Thanks for the concern KG,they are reporting 31 dead overnight so far and probably more as the day starts.

Obama of course is concerned, the bad weather may delay Air Farce 1 on the way to another fundraiser.

The damage is enormous, isn’t it? These poor people have to pick themselves up and in a lot of cases, start over from scratch.

I hope I didn’t post over the top of you, KG. I thought I checked before I hit the Publish button?

      • Darin says:

Worst is quite a few places hit yesterday were hit last year this time.Everybody was just learning to deal with last years shock and to go through it all again so soon is just sad.Even worse is how many people that probably had to let their insurance slide with the rotten economy. They were on the brink before and now this

I’m worried about Hurricane season this year too.We didn’t get much of a winter this year and the water in the GOM never really did cool down like it normally does.It could be an active year for storms.

        • KG says:

          Mailed you, Darin.
They predicted four cyclones for us this year, since the Coral Sea is so warm, but it looks like the total will be zero. So I’d take the predictions with a pinch of salt.

          • Darin says:

Well I am hoping we get cool weather real late this year like we did last, course that’s a two edged sword, late cold means more Tornados :|

            • KG says:

I’d prefer to deal with hurricanes than tornados–those things would worry me. A lot.

  2. Moist von Lipwig says:

The NZ media have been wetting themselves and getting mindlessly hysterical for the last few days over what they obnoxiously and proudly called a ‘Weather Bomb’ that was due to hit this country over the weekend.
For a sense of reality and perspective they should reflect on the sort of damage serious storms such as these can do before spouting their weather related inanities.
My thoughts are with our American friends.

Living in an area where trains get blown off the track, we wonder what all this fuss about 80-100k winds is!

    • KG says:

Your area is the only place I have ever seen a huge stack of green timber blown over, Os.
      Impressive….
