Disgusting. Kiwi journalists deserve a kick up the backside.

‘RSL chiefs have been outraged by an insulting trans-Tasman attack on Australia’s Gallipoli heroes.
Just days from Anzac Day, our brave World War I Diggers have been branded “lazy”, “bludgers” and “thieves” by panellists on New Zealand’s government-funded Radio National.

Freelance journalist Josie McNaught said she was “so sick of hearing that ridiculous cliche” that Australia’s national identity was forged at Gallipoli.

Fellow guest, veteran journalist Jock Anderson then weighed in with: “Aussies have been reluctant soldiers at the best of times.

”And they’ve been essentially lazy  bludgers, some of them, and excellent black marketeers, scavengers, poachers and thieves.’
I’d better not ever meet either of these two pieces of shit face-to-face. Violence will ensue.

  1. The Gantt Guy says:

Rest assured, these two fools in no way represent the views of kiwis, including the many kiwi (ex) servicemen, it has been my pleasure to work and interact with over the years. My friends in the services would be disgusted by these comments and would likely hold the rope for you, KG.

Watch and wait. I’ll bet there will be the usual lame excuse of us just ribbing and having a larf at our larger ‘cousins’ expense. Well, sorry McNaught and Anderson, not this topic and not that way. Not funny. Not appropriate and I hope one day you grow up enough to understand why.

  2. KG says:

Odd, isn’t it, Gantt how Aussie and Kiwi servicemen can hold one another in high esteem, but uninformed journalists have to resort to baseless smears and sly digs?
They need to come to little Australian country towns like this one, and read the heartbreaking lists of those bludgers and thieves…

  3. KG says:

And for their information, soldiers the world over are “excellent black marketeers, scavengers, poachers and thieves” when the need arises. What the hell does that have to do with Anzac Day?

  4. Mort says:

it comes down to people who do and people who watch…
those who watch like to think they hold the moral highground for whatever baseless reasons, and denigrate those who do, all because they feel pathetically shown up for their ineptitude, and lack of outcome changing effort

  5. Adolf Fiinkensein says:

    Hmmmmmm

I remember hearing from the late Sir James Henare how good his chaps were at stealing pigs for their hangi – in Italy, WW2.

BTW I wonder if the PM will rush off to apologize to Ms Gillard. After all, these reportes are just a pair pf Dickshits.

    • KG says:

One of the nicknames for Kiwi troops among the Aussies in Vietnam (and it was more in admiration than in condemnation) was “Hydraulics”–because they could ‘lift’ (ie steal/acquire) anything.

  6. Moist von Lipwig says:

Not surprised that this has surfaced on “Afternoons with Jim Mora”, a radio lefty love-fest fond of denigrating “those who do” (quoting Mort) under the guise of a bit of a larf (GG).
Perhaps this pair of morons thought the program needed some life on that afternoon.
Reading through the highlights revealed these two riveting highlights….

“For 40 days, during Lent, Sydneysider Lisa Rafferty gave up something she loved, something that had become a big part of her life – Facebook. Lent may be over, but Lisa Rafferty now says she may never go back to Facebook. ”
    And….
“Landcare Research biologists are keen to work out how stick insects managed to adapt to life in colder climates.”

  7. octagongrappler says:

EERRRR !!! Defending Kokoda against the japs despite being heavily outnumbered???

Battle of Long Tan?Victory despite being outnumbered?

  8. Cadwallader says:

The radio station is pure lefty filth. Jock Anderson is a controversialist rather than a reporter. Never heard of the other one. Her name really translates as Josie McNothing. :whoop

  9. oswald bastable says:

I can supply hot tar, feathers and a few brushes…

  10. octagongrappler says:

I have noticed a massive media attack on our history and heritage the last few months and they seem to have increased there attacks…

Alot of racial news and xenophobe claims the last few weeks….

    • Kris K says:

Dead right, Spidy – got to continually remind the unthinking masses “just how EVIL the white man is” and thereby keep white-guilt alive and kicking.

“White skin BAD, brown skin GOOD.”

      • octagongrappler says:

        Kris

Its been amazing how often Spoonley an co have gone on the attack!! Its as if they are trying to ready us for the floodgates being opened??

In Auckland even during the reccession, I have noticed a hugh influx of people between 2009-12, the motoways is actually 10 times worse than 3 years ago..

There are study for residence schools on the increase which qualifies you for a visa and a fulltime supervisors job at pack n save..

  11. oob says:

The radio comments reflect the view of British commanders during WWI.

NZ troops were considered the finest in the empire while Australian troops were considered cannon-fodder. Both were treated accordingly at Gallipoli.

    • Cadwallader says:

Is this true though? I recall reading how NZ’s so-called deserters (often mind-fucked) were subject to the whims of British punishment, including being shot, while the Oz government refused the Poms this pleasure.

      • kowtow says:

The Brits shot an awful lot of their own soldiers. I don’t buy all this stuff about Brit generals being shit, unfeeling etc.I detect in that sort of stuff a trendy anti colonial, class thing.
Let’s face it, The Brits created the greatest empire in the world. We are part and parcel of that tradition. We couldn’t have done it without good leaders and great soldiers. So some campaigns were stuff ups,the vaunted Prussians and nowadays hard sell tough guy Turks didn’t win WW1 did they? We did.

        • Cadwallader says:

I agree. I found “Raw Material” by Alan Sillitoe a damn fine read about the brutalities of British senior officers from a class perspective.

          • KG says:

I must get hold of the book, Cad.

            • Cadwallader says:

Interestingly Sillitoe also held the theory that had it not been for the Salvation Army and its ability to relieve suffering there may have been a revolution in UK in the early 1920s. Sillitoe is renown for being one of the writers known as the “Angry Young Men” of the 1950s and was a truly fine thinker.

  12. Moneo says:

I was in a box at the rugby in Wellington last night – Crusaders v Hurricanes – and they played the last post before the game, as well as reciting the Ode of Remembrance.

From what I saw, everyone in the Stadium was respectful in these moments. (As much as Beehive types sneer at it, it is still the ‘national’ game with a distinct type of person following it) And they are going to all be pissed as hell when it finally emerges what the traitors who run our Government are doing, if events allow them to see. I just hope that anger can be used for good in some way.

Crusaders smashed the Hurricanes as well. for what its worth. Hopefully Christ’s Church will defeat Wellington when the game is played for real.

  13. octagongrappler says:

Well this is what “NEW” Kiwis think of us and our soldiers :rant

  14. Wombat says:

I was in the army for 12 years and have the utmost respect for the Kiwis as soldiers. we (on both sides of the trench) have served side by side since WW1 and I am saddened by the comments of these two. How can they make those insensitive comments when they have no knowledge or personal experiences on which to base their comments. The thousands of ANZAC diggers who died storming ashore at Anzac Cove and later at Lone Pine and other battles would be dismayed and angry at those comments. My mates who died or were wounded at the hands of the VC certainly wouldn’t think they were “buldging” at the time. Diplomacy, tact and sensitivity certainly aren’t qualifications for being a Journalist it would seem.

  15. shona says:

Good to see you have dumb journalists across the ditch as well….My Kiwi friends would be sickened by these idiots comments as we are…Just as well we know the vast majourity of Kiwi’s have always got our backs and we theirs….to the 2 dumbo feral journo’s…try this one…”up yours” with love from across the ditch…

    • KG says:

      Thanks Shona.

      • shona says:

You are welcome KG…Don’t take their comments to much to heart we have the same dumbo’s here..a few weeks ago they slagged off our latest VC winner while serving in Afghanistan…They got more than than they expected, and not heard from them since and a lot of businesses pulled their adds etc off the air….ANZAC day is and always will be us and you, forever friends across the ditch…and to those who don’t like it..tough….

        • KG says:

The’yre doing their best to change all that though, Shona. Large numbers of new immigrants (legal and otherwise) don’t give a damn about ANZAC, and the usual suspects are doing their best to change the face of Australia and New Zealand into some kind of U.N. rainbow multiculti
          chook run.
It’s very sad, and a lot of people aren’t going to wake up until it’s lost forever.

          • Moist von Lipwig says:

shona…The circle of jerks that denigrated Corporal Benjamin Roberts-Smith are similar to the pair here. Giggling over some throw-away lines that they think make them sound hip.
They have no idea what words like courage, duty and service really mean, so deserve to be ignored.

          • shona says:

Many of our immigrants are actually participating in ANZAC day..even our old foes the Turks…ANZAC day here is getting bigger and bigger…tens of thousand now roll up to the dawn service in Melbourne at the Shrine and many of our young and yours go to Gallipoli every year..It is in safe hands…

            • KG says:

I hope you’re right, Shona. The assault on our traditions worries me.

            • octagongrappler says:

In Nz its getting bigger for the wrong reasons!!

Its turning into a liberal/PC Celebration that is inclusive of all the cultures

  16. KG says:

I’m reminded of what Francis Porretto said, over at Eternity Road:
“Men acquire their principles and aspirations from their culture’s myths and traditions, and most particularly from the heroes at the center of its greatest stories. Even the heroes of the purest fiction play a part…perhaps, given how few of us are ever put to a significant test in this time of great comfort, the largest part of all.”

  17. Seneca III says:

What would they call me then after my 5 years spent under a big slouch hat (incl SVN) then – a ‘pommie bludger’? Should I take that as personal?

    Seneca III

P.S. If you guys do get your hands on them can I come down and play for a while? I have a neat little party trick involving a kangaroo, a hot needle and an ice cream. ;-)

  18. KG says:

G’day Seneca. I can organise the ‘roo, provided he’s not going to be hurt. The journos, we don’t care about.

  19. mawm says:

I see our wonderfully sensitive NZTV, who had no qualms about showing Cpl Willie Apiata’s face on the box, restrained themselves tonight when they had a story on the Afgan interpreters who want asylum here. Not a face was shown. I wonder how many, with their families, cousins, uncles, aunts, etc, we’ll be housing and handing out money to…..

BTW nothing hacks me off more than some idiotic western journalist that wears a kifayeh the moment he gets to the ME. :rant

  20. octagongrappler says:

Yeah and they ambushed Coleman asking him for asylum when he arrived :popcorn

  21. Flashman says:

    National Radio?

Now there’s a fossilised echo chamber packed to the rafters with aged 1970’s left wingers: Mary Wilson, Eva Raddich, Kim Hill, Chris Laidlaw, and Kathryn Ryan.

And all on the tax payer’s dime.

  22. STEVE55 says:

Is it possible to post photos of the shit stains , so any of us can recognise and confront ?

  23. WAKE UP says:

Here’s a real story for the “journalist” Josie McNaught:

As I recall the story goes something like this: President de Gaulle, politicking for votes in France, demanded that all Americans should leave the country – and was asked by someone if that included the ones in graves from World War 2. End of story.
