An update of the Anita Killeen post

‘One law for thee, and one for me’
It gets worse–much worse.
Stephen Franks is a principal of specialist Wellington law firm Franks & Ogilvie (Commercial & Public Law) :
“…a depressing report that the judge (Mary-Beth Sharpe) had tried to reserve rights to censor Radio New Zealand coverage of the trial.
….we are reminded that earlier proceedings were made secret.
…My initial post focussed wrongly on the gender and class issues. This is now a  more serious case which appears to present favouritism from the prosecution, indifference to the victims, and the misuse of the power the Court should never have been given,  to keep it all secret for as long as possible.”
Doesn’t get much worse than that, does it? And will the judge resign? Of course not–that would require some integrity and respect for the law.

  1. It’s another demonstration (not that any was really needed) of the way the top brass are colluding with this Administration to betray the troops, Carol.
I’m not sure there’s any way back to decency from here.
