an irresponsible fool and not fit to judge an effing dog show. So sue me, you stupid, stupid little woman.
That judgement is a social worker’s response and a gross dereliction of your duty to administer justice, a word I doubt you know the meaning of.

    I expect to be gunned down for this: This Judge’s soft behaviour is the seemingly natural outcome of too many women lawyers being promoted to the Bench. This phenomenon is not restricted to NZ. The choice to “understand” the perpetrator’s needs ahead that of the victim is despicable.

    Exactly. I was really disgusted when I read the article. The crim should have had the book thrown at him, ie maximum sentence for attacking an old lady for her handbag.
    Home detention. spit. Judge Cunningham ought to be ashamed of herself. Mark my words. We will hear about this animal again soon when he attacks someone else and next time it will probably be murder!
    Gawd this makes my blood boil.

    Cadwallader, but if I’d been the judge, that piece of shit would have been reduced to tears in the courtroom before being sent down for the maximum term possible. And I wasn’t a bloke last time I looked. Of course he will reoffend but that’s OK because he will only maim and kill ordinary citizens, not the legal fraternity and its cloistered, superior types. Considering that judges are govt. appointed, is this situation in any way surprising?

      I know this.
      The perception, not unfounded, is that young women lawyers come to the profession with a propensity to be caring ahead of giving the law its due stature. This is not universal of course and the profession ought to accept some of the responsibility as young female graduates tend to be shunted into the Family Court where their work is pinioned on social engineering….which includes listening to drivel from allegedly hard done by beneficiaries and malcontents. The Family Court is a travesty not only of the law but as a social institution. The crap that goes on in there is bigoted (often exclusively against males) but generally against societal mores.
      This Judge is wrong anyway, whether gender is acknowledged or not.

    Par for the course,but as councel will inform you…your friendly Judge will not send you to prison if one following holds true…

    a) you are addicted to drugs or alcohol
    b) are a member of a indigenious race(if rule (a) applies here,instant dismissal)
    c) member of a stone age cult(if rule (a) is applicable,instant dismissal,to be followed up by a public lecture as to the failure of society to bend over backwards)
    d) if a member of a political(leftist) activist group e.g. Greenpeace

    but always remember folks…if you are white and a target of a crime…you are not the ‘victim’,the perp is…just dont expect justice.

      My take is that one should never underestimate the human ability to go rogue when things turn a bit difficult – remember that cruise ship that broke down in the Gulf of Mexico? The passengers KNEW they were being towed to safety and plenty in a few days, but nevertheless, fist fights broke out over food.

      Now can you imagine what would happen in any civilized Western country if the economy breaks down and demogogues whip up the anger of the hungry and angry mob for victims?

      A lynch mob during a state of anarchy has all kinds of balls….and guns…and ropes…and torches….etc.

    I hope these CR posts are all archived/stored as a record of the atrocious bullshit that’s been allowed/encouraged to happen.

    For example the other night I warned a German girl about N.Z by showing her the map of maori violence.

    If the Western world ever gets around to correcting, examples such as this could be used in teaching.
