“Both men had been told that they would not be allowed to settle here because they had failed to “demonstrate strong ties” to the UK.”

I’d say holding off an enemy advance and losing a hand and eye in the process more than demonstrated “strong ties”.They should have gotten citizenship the day the war ended IMHO.

It should be automatic for Gurkhas, I reckon. Britain imports scum by the hundreds of thousands, yet the government can’t do the right thing by these men.
Bastards. The lot of ’em deserve hanging, and those who vote for the pieces of shit are little better.

And what “strong ties” do Pakistani muslims demonstrate? Shares in the local Rape and Paedophilia Club?

The sheer raw courage of men like the late Havildar Gurung VC never fails to amaze.
Their shabby treatment by HM Government entirely predictible.
