In Vietnam when we captured a Charlie, the first thing we did was to check his ammo pouches and if he had ammo, we let him go to the POW camp, because he could have fired at American troops. If he didn’t have ammo we shot him in the field, because the bastard only surrendered because he was out of bullets.

Talking of medics and combat I watched an al Jazeera “documetary” on the great work the medics and helicopter crews do in briging out wounded servicemen.
It was a powerful programme.
The problem (other than being AJ which is Arab funded propaganda)was at the end of the show the question was posed : “as the medics and helos do such a great job,it raises the morale and therefor fighting commitment and ability of our soldiers;
that being the case ,do the medivac helicopters become legitimate targets?”
