Amazing how quickly some moan when previous taxpayer largesse is threatened in these straightened times. God forbid that those whom Mr Key has wasted heaps of my hard earnt tax on for their votes might actually fund themselves.
After all, are not these the same entitled that have done everything over the past 180 years to remain outside of that treaty ever on the path to racist separatism, including abetting local terrorists. Time to cut them adrift, cut all taxpayer funding and see how long they last.

Well, the Iwi parasites wouldn’t last long, that’s for sure.
Half of the rest would get jobs and the other half would simply prey on the productive.
Oh….hang on……
The thing which really pisses me about this is the absurd maori posturing that they are all somehow more closely connected to the land than us whitey colonialists. This is utter b/s. If it wasn’t for some dip-stick liberals maoris wouldn’t know how to spell environmentalism (maybe they can’t?) let alone care for ecology. I regard ecology as a lesser science invented by the left to stymie capitalism, free enterprise and human endeavours. In the vile Resource Management Act there is a term “kiakitanga” (or similar) which preserves the notion that maoris are the stewards of the land. In pre-Euro times the maoris, as was their right, applied the benefits of the land to their needs. It was an honest approach which is now clouded by enviro-nazis. The world is a weird place!
That sums up the scam perfectly.
Fund it themselves? You’re clearly one of the those right-wing rrrraaaaaacccccciiiiiiisssssstttttt KKK types that Tinkerbell Finlayson warned New Zealand about a few months ago.
Now, shut up, grab your ankles and pay up the jizya, whitey.
Is that why Tuhoe settled for a mere $170 million?
Did part of the settlement also include a steady supply of slave labour, funded by tax payers?
It would seem so, Zen. I sometimes wonder if they get the relationship between productivity and rewards.
Actually, no, I don’t wonder.
BTW – did you note another interesting article featuring the Tuhoe tribe recently?
They have had a long standing feud against Ngati Porou who executed 120 Tuhoe for their attacks and resistance against them and the colonials. They kissed and made up by exchanging a small gift – a flax hand bag of some sort.
Made me wonder why the government didn’t just send them a Louis Vuitton and be done with it.

A peace offering at MP Parekura Horomia’s tangi today has ended nearly 150 years of bitterness between East Coast tribe Ngati Porou and Tuhoe. Tuhoe kaumatua Tu Waaka offered a gift of peace to Ngati Porou. It was accepted by Wayne Ngata.
So what was in the bag; KFC, McDonalds….?
