win70superOn the way to Townsville I came across one of these, at a bargain price. Winchester model 70 in .243.  Wabbit also got a tat…his CR avatar, on the forearm. Damned if I’ll hide a symbol which is offensive to sand lice.

    Very nice rifle KG.

          The one I just bought isn’t in pristine cosmetic condition, Rivoniaboy, but it’s just a matter of re-blueing the barrel and refinishing the stock. Maybe a new barrel down the track when I can afford it.
          Anyway, it’ll outlast me. :smile:

      Not to mention the Dogs that get killed in the process.The pigs here travel a daily route ,usually between a food source and a water supply,find that route and wait for them is the easy way.

      Just like one of my budds at work found out though,it’s best to wait up off the ground in a tree.He surprised ,or rather they surprised him,a run of about 15 mostly adult hogs.Luckily it was in a Scrub Oak thicket and he’s a good climber :mrgreen:

    If I remember correctly there is some story about pre and post 1963 production models with earlier being better, but it’s probably academic in practice.

      The Huffpo article fails to mention the single biggest reason for the high number of suicides among active duty service.
      That would be the restrictive ROEs and the duty rotation that has been forced on them by the administration.Obama and company have effectively turned Afganistan into a meat grinder.They also moved to longer deployments and shorter home leave.Many of the infantry and special forces have conveyed the feeling of being trapped in a never ending cycle of high stress,exhaustion and of course constant mortal danger.These guys have no time to rest and decompress so some of them just crack. :sad:

      Then they are also kicking out combat vets for minor infractions and paper work snags.Use them up and throw them away,just like the Johnson administration did during Vietnam. :evil:

    Just been watching some Ted Cruz on Youtube. The man is clearly fighting a war on two fronts, and he is clearly winning. He eviscerated Feinstein on her gun grab bill (Feinstein is an idiot, so something of a hollow victory), but he reserves his biggest weapons for the RINOs in his own party. He is absolutely, utterly merciless with McCain.

    And it’s just a joy to watch.
