  A grim “urgent action memorandum” issued today from the office of President Putin to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is ordering a “massive military strike” against Saudi Arabia in the event that the West attacks Syria.’

      Did you not read the caveat under the post? It was highlighted in red, so even gibbering idiots would read it.
      As for logistical problems–there are none. Russia could easily launch missiles from a submarine.
      (A submarine is a big boat thingy that can travel underwater. They’ve made the business of hauling cannonballs by mule carts across sovereign borders unnecessary).

      I’m sure there is quite a lot of arm twisting going behind the scenes between the New Allies Against Syria and the Russia/China Axis, “Oh please Mr. Russia/China join our side, or keep quiet, and what a DEAL we have for you!” :mrgreen:

      The thing is the Saudis have the Islamic Brotherhood and Shiite Iran on their flanks – and it’s the Saudis who are quietly pushing Der Fuhrer Obama to put the NATO war machine in gear to crush Syria and, hopefully, Iran as well, which means Sunni Saudi Arabia is top dog in the Muslim World.

      China may be the wild card, because if the Saudi oil fields get taken out by the Russian ICBMs, the Chinese economy comes to a sudden halt.

      You are forgetting about MAD – Mutually Assured Destruction which is still the doctrine for nuclear combat – If any major nuclear power starts firing ICBMs, the other Great Powers start shooting theirs at the first shooter, which would be America, and most of our major cities would disappear in the blink of an eye.

      The thing about ICBMs is that you either use them, or lose them after the first strike, so the thinking is that if war looks likely between Russia/China, the military is trained to volley fire everything nuclear hoping to wipe their cities and war machine out first…

      However, enemy nukes will survive and take out everything important in this country in the second strike, so it’s lose-lose for the Big Three nuclear countries anyway you cut it.

      Yes, this is insanity, but if you have a Communist psychopath of a U.S. president in office with all the codes necessary to start WW III and the power needed to do so, he may decide to launch our ICBM volley against the opposition.

        That was a point no one paid any attention to during the gulf wars I&II.
        The US only got 12% of it’s daily supply from OPEC and 90% of that came from Venezuela.Yet the “No blood for oil” crowd was allowed to keep the myth that it was American imperialism and our lust for oil as to why we were over there.
        The truth is we were not there for OUR oil intrests,but rather for western Europe and Japan who are by far the largest customers of Saudi oil.
        The other factor is,and I am speculating this,but can anyone imagine what would happen if Saudi and the rest of the wealthy gulf nations fell entirely to the likes of Al Queda?Just imagine them with about $2Trillion a year in spending money to do some shopping in N.Korea which is nothing more than a proxy for China.
