‘Abbott’s plan to rewrite history’
is the headline.
The facts:
‘TONY Abbott isn’t just planning a less Left future. He wants to review what he says is the national curriculum’s bias towards “one side of politics” in history studies.’
So, he’s not planning to “rewrite history” at all, merely to have it taught without the shameful leftist bias.
‘Critics of the curriculum say a trend towards political correctness means history classes are placing undue emphasis on indigenous culture, Asia and sustainability, with Anzac Day mentioned in the context of other national days such as Ramadan and Buddha Day.
“This would be a priority for us. The Coalition doesn’t have a black-armband view of Australia’s history,”
Damn right– And about time!

    In this case after rewriting Australian history they have the CHUTZPAH to protest when Aussie patriots rewrite their rewrite back to accuracy :!: :!: :!: :evil:

      Yes, it is worse than useless to talk or compromise with Leftists – the only viable options are exile, imprisonment or execution :!:

      I am much encouraged by the active military resistance to the Obama Regime, and even in the darkest days of the Vietnam War never did I see or hear of active duty personnel taking such a strong and public stand against the CIC.

    The same is happening right here in the States. Since the late 1970’s textbooks have become increasingly more biased towards the left. In my American history classes at the university, for everything that we were taught that made you proud of your homeland they gave you two things which was designed to make you feel ashamed. From that perspective, patriotism was as corrosive as hatred. It is one of the many reasons that I consider leftist political policy to be a social acid. This is because it breaks down social bonds and traditions with the obvious intent to replace them with collectivism and socialism/Marxism. Too bad that al Islam beat them to the punch in Europe.

    A far more disturbing trend is the one toward denying parents the right to remove their children from the socialist indoctrination and anti-Christian themed programs (read: public education) that are sponsored by the left with a prime example being Germany who recently sent armed SWAT teams to raid the homes of these children and forcibly removed them from their parents for defying State authority by home schooling.

    Even flight does not guarantee these parents the ability to remove their progeny from this form of indoctrination as evidenced by the German family who sought political asylum here in the U.S. and whose fate was decided by a President who is sent them back to Germany to face criminal prosecution while his own illegal relatives live free in the U.S. and ICE won’t touch them.

    As the freedom of thought and expression is diminished and parent’s rights are abridged by the overreaching power and authority of big government, the freedom of man is dying under such oppression. But then again, the left never promised freedom did they?
