That ugly beast is back.

‘THE Vatican has begun a historic move to rehabilitate the leftist Catholic movement known as “liberation theology” as the Pope refocuses the church on the poor.
L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s official newspaper, devoted its centre spread to defending the virtues of liberation theology, which had been anathema since the Cold War….’
And naturally, once again it will result – MUST result – in support for terrorists.

  1. Ronbo says:

The pope seems to have confused Christianity with Communism :!:

Fortunately most Christians do not :!:

  2. GW says:

The left will be happy to have . . . I believe the correct label is “extremely useful idiots.” They will give the left cover as the left dismantles Christianity throughout the public square and replaces the individual responsibility for alms and good works (the type of thing that in a millennium past gave the world hospitals) with government enforced redistribution of wealth (the type of thing that gave us Russia, Cuba, etc., where the poor are so much better off). This is just f***** insane. All future Popes should have to have a degree in BASIC ECONOMICS. I may well have to go back to my Protestant roots and adopt a militant attitude to popery.

  3. KG says:

Of course it’s difficult to separate the religious and the political, but this guy seems to be jumping into the political with both feet and missionary enthusiasm.
The left’s enthusiastic PR on his behalf very early on made me suspicious and I’ve seen nothing to modify that feeling yet.

  4. Brown says:

It makes sense at a superficial level to go down this road and do good stuff for others but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. It will inevitably become a left leaning slush fund for supporting things far from Christian. This will be another leg of the world council of churches which is a shonky outfit if there ever was one.

  5. KG says:

” It will inevitably become a left leaning slush fund for supporting things far from Christian.”
    As it did before, Brown.

  6. Darin says:

History repeats and reminds us that the Catholic hierarchy will forgive any sin for enough money,it’s just the return of holy indulgences on a bigger scale.

    • Pascal says:

Absolutely correct Darin. Consequently, a new Blaise Pascal is needed. Sadly, it’s not me.

Exposing and satirizing the old scheme of indulgences was Pascal’s last gift to the world.

      • Darin says:

Pascal, more and more in every corner of life it’s all about money and money equals salvation to the indulgence peddlers.

It affects all sectors of life now.Doesn’t matter who they stole it from, who they had to kill to get it or if the body is even buried,it’s all about the Benjamins and it only matters that you have it.
Need to see the prez?Pay me.Need a road paved or a bridge built?Pay me.Need to get out of Obamacare?Pay me and it goes on and on.

It’s sad that our political and religious leaders are parading around like Peacocks when they should have on ashes and sackcloth.

        • KG says:

What they should have on is a hemp necktie.

          • Darin says:

            Yup,that too.

The Bible says that in the last days good would be called evil and evil be called good. Here we are and the Christian leaders false prophets don’t even bother reading the book just as our political leaders don’t read our Constitutions.

Francis is off the reservation, and getting more so. I know there are still some ‘Real’ Jesuits around, and I long for the day when the Jesuits were the Navy Seals of the Catholic Church. It may well be that this hippie Pope is the final plague to be visited on humanity, a plague of faithlessness that will starve the souls of all those who lack the real faith that only the Creator can bestow.

    • Pascal says:

      Mathew 16:16-23

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

However, Peter was a man. I think we’ve been warned of the men who would come to sit in the seat of Peter, and that in our imperfection there would surely be lesser men:

21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

“Savourest not the thing that be of God but those that be of men” is what we see here, do we not? I say be not disappointed. We may not understand, but He clearly does.

  8. Darin says:

“Francis is off the reservation, and getting more so”

If it’s South American and in leadership then it’s a Marxist.
