‘Australia is ready for Tony Abbott to be prime minister’

From today’s Herald Sun editorial:
‘…….The challenge taken up by Tony Abbott and the Coalition is to get big government out of people’s lives, to allow families to realise their aspirations and make their own future. We believe Mr Abbott stands ready to seize the day. His has been a disciplined performance in a bitter and deeply divided Parliament. He has proved himself a man of principle.
He has defied his critics to forge the Coalition into a cohesive government in waiting. He has never wavered in his belief that the way to restore the economy is through jobs and productivity…’

  1. I hope he holds true on homosexual marriage; I think the west is looking to Australia to hold firm against that. I look at Australia as our beacon of light so to speak–when it goes we’re f**ked.

‘A beautiful era of cruelty dawns:

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sydney has told staff he was ‘’distressed’’ to see the work of a renowned philosophy academic from the university unfairly ridiculed by the Coalition as an example of ‘’ridiculous’’ and wasteful government spending.

The Coalition announced on Thursday it would audit and redirect funds from the Australian Research Council in an attempt to curb government ‘’waste’’, with opposition treasury spokesman Joe Hockey singling out certain projects during a press conference.

Among the projects highlighted by the Coalition is “The God of Hegel’s Post-Kantian idealism”, a research project being led by Professor Paul Redding from the university’s Department of Philosophy.

The cost of that study: $443,000.
Oh dear, how sad…the pompous, self-important redundant leeches may not be able to continue stealing from those Aussies who actually – you know –work for a living.

I would love to hear all the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the green nazis if Abbott follows through and ditches that disaster.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

I just got home after sighting-in the Sako and now we’re having a pre-celebratory celebratory beer.
Trust me, Rudd is a goneburger.

      • Darin says:

Screw the politics hows the rifle?

        • KG says:

Well, I put a 2-7 33mm Leupold scope on it and used the hood of the Hilux as a rest. In a strong, gusty wind at 100 yards it still manages to group within 1 MOA.
But I can’t use the big mag I bought for a Tikka in the damn thing and the 3 shot Sako mag is a pain in the ass. No big mags for the Sako A7 available.

KG, I trust your sighting-in the Sako and Rudd’s being a goneburger are in no way connected.

          • Darin says:

Good lord those mag prices are insanehttp://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_negative.gif
It also appears they don’t even make a five or ten round mag?

          • Oswald Bastable says:

MOA under real world conditions is about as good as it gets!

And takes a real shooter, not a target shooter!

  4. KG says:

    Not connected at all, John.
“More’s the pity”, a radical revolutionary rightie might say. But I couldn’t possibly say that.
    Nossir.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_bye.gif

  5. KG says:

Well, they’re expensive enough, for sure Darin. But it’s the lack of a five or ten round one that’s bloody irritating.

  6. KG says:

Thanks, Oswald. Gecko puts it down to luck. No man is a hero to his wife, eh?
