‘The Marine Corps has suddenly dropped criminal charges against an officer in the infamous Taliban urination video case, heading off what promised to be an embarrassing pre-trial hearing for the commandant on Wednesday.
Defense attorneys for Capt. James V. Clement had won a judge’s order, over objections from Marine prosecutors, for two staff attorneys to testify in open court about how senior commanders had interfered in the case to get a guilty verdict…’

    The senior commanders were doing the bidding of Pentagon brass, who were in turn doing the bidding of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Best Friend.
    Somehow I doubt that judge has a bright future……

      It doesn’t help that we don’t have an independent friend of the military grand jury to indict the senior officials for jury tampering. That will have to wait til republic 2.0

      OTOH, if your headline still has some punch to it, the best disinfectant has, in the past, been shedding light on the creepy crawlies hiding under their rocks.

      To protect that judge — and the integrity of other judges who are sure to watch what follows (the Drudge-like “developing…” inclination in us all), I will try to remember to keep an eye on what follows. What’s the name of that judge? Get him some protection. He deserves it.

    Dammit, the link doesn’t mention the judges name. It’s also poorly written. On two occasions there are pronouns after two proper names have been mentioned, and there is no easy way to tell who “him” is.

    And then there is this at the end, which suggest that the best disinfectant was not completely successful.

    The Washington Times was not able to get an immediate comment from the Corps.

    Gen. Glueck’s order did not explain why he was dropping the charges.

    He ordered that Capt. Clement undergo an administrative board of inquiry, which will determine if he committed misconduct. The board can decide if he should be retained or separated under less than honorable conditions.

    Uh, huh.

    Well, yes. But at least the whole thing is still visible and the chance of Capt. Clement being quietly led down the steps of a Lubyanka cellar has receded somewhat…. ;-)
