The call for an end to the “culture wars” will very shortly be followed by calls for bipartisanship – which is leftie for don’t do anything with which the left disagrees. Honestly, these people need to be driven from the public square – or hung in it.
Politics is no longer about the national interest in the West anymore. It is about the acquisition and maintenance of power in order to enforce your will upon the public at large. They will do, and say anything in order to achieve those ends. Like Rome, the West is corrupt at it’s heart. Christianity, patriotism, individualism all work against those objectives and so they are reviled. As society becomes more aggressive and amoral, the shreds of what is left of the West will be consumed in decadence and self indulgence until the raggedy end.
The Second Coming by Yeats was prophetic regarding the events that would set the stage for World War II. I would think that it would also be prophetic for the future we are about to enter courtesy of the jackals in government and their blatant stupidity and arrogance. The West is rife with “Chamberlains” in office these days and I cannot, but to imagine that one of them will crow about peace in our time courtesy of another signed document that isn’t worth the paper that it is printed on. Neville Chamberlain was a an ass, and he brayed about a false peace that nearly doomed his own nation. It will happen again. Of that, I have no doubt.

Unfortunately i don’t think they’ll get the culture war they deserve, there’s far too much shit left by the lefties to clean up. Hopefully i’m wrong, hopefully Abbott will find the time to make their wildest fantasies come true.
