    Several cops should be charged in this incident for unlawful discharge of firearms in a crowded urban area and manslaughter in the death of the unarmed woman. :evil:

    I was surprised obama didn’t label them as stupid and also inflame the situation by saying something like – she looks like my daughter or something. I fully expected him to engage in a bit of cheap race-baiting in this sort of situation, that is his style after all.

    Or maybe this time he didn’t since his own skin seemed to be on the line.

    Nobody would suggest that this woman was a model citizen, but it seems to me that a culture of shooting first is rapidly taking hold among American police forces. And their habit of referring to citizens as “civilians” is very revealing of the mindset at work here.

      And I can just about guarantee that every one of those municipalities is run by Democratic party members or (only because of city charter decrees) officially non-partisan Liberals (anti-fascists). Cities are not known as blue for no reason.

      And just about all these recent stories should have a common subtitle “Fascism will come to America in the guise of anti-fascism.” Rapidly taking hold indeed.

        Don’t they have tasers in Washington D.C. ? My understanding is she was unarmed and the car was stopped and contained. If this happened in New South Wales, the cops would be pilloried, unless they had “reasonable apprehension” that she was likely to kill someone, (including one of the officers), or was likely to cause somebody grievous bodily harm.

    Eh! The Brits are waking up.

    The new MI5 chief – It remains the case that there are several thousand Islamist extremists here who see the British public as a legitimate target.

    …….that British-based jihadists will one day return from the killing fields of Syria and turn their new-found skills on the population back home.

    And…

    Since 2000, we have seen serious attempts at major acts of terrorism in this country typically once or twice a year.

    That feels to me, for the moment, unlikely to change
