Delingpole on obesity:

‘….What our current socialised healthcare system does, unfortunately, is to remove this vital connection between cause and effect. Not only are the obese cushioned from the financial consequences of their wanton self-indulgence but they inhabit a culture so in thrall to the idea of victimhood, so fearful of “judgementalism” and so wary of causing offence that it doesn’t even dare hint that there might be a problem with being fat….’

I’ve witnessed the results in person doing contract work at a hospital.

There was a woman there so fat that they had to order an unbelievably expensive specialized bed for as well as custom lifting equipment to move her. She had round the clock care by multiple nurses yet refused lap band surgery because “I’m fine the way I am and I don’t have to change”.

They gave her triple servings of hospital food as per her demands and as of the time I left there were no suggestions as to if (much less how) she was ever going to be released.

Based on all facets of her care I CONSERVATIVELY estimate she was costing the taxpayer upwards of a million dollars a year.

She’s the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. I’ve seen people admitted permanently to hospital because they’d been diagnosed as being “incapable of looking after themselves” which is to say “terminally lazy”. Of course, to the health industry it’s all gravy. The more bullshit you can put someone in hospital for, the better their job safety gets.

      Damn right.
Smokers are demonised as “costing the health system (ie taxpayer) huge amounts of money” when in fact they are net contributors, through enormous taxes and the fact that they tend not to hang around as long.
Yet for some bizarre reason/s, obese people are “victims” and must not be criticised.

Wouldn’t you say that fat parasite is a metaphor for socialism :?:

The late great philosopher Ayn Rand would have had a field day making the comparison in one of her angry op-eds :!:

How could a woman who is bedridden because she is so fat think she was “fine” the way she was? She should have been given psychiatric treatment instead of triple servings of tucker.

By the way, in my 55 years I have only ever spent one week in hospital, but from my limited experince, anyone who wants triple servings of hospital food defininitely has a psyche problem.

Obesity is an industry, look at all the diets, pills, surgery, weight loss clinics etc,etc forever. The BMI is the gold standard here, even though it’s completely flawed.
At 6’5″ 250lbs I am “obese” according to the government and most insurance company charts, never mind my heart rate and BP are normal and my combined cholesteral are “in the basement” as my doctor puts it.Work has a suprising ability to keep a person healthy though and since I manage 45-60 hrs a week of it I only see the doc once a year unless I manage to cut, burn or otherwise damage myself.

That’s most of society, the huge truely obese that are 200+ pounds overweight need to be given a choice between surgery and diet or get out of the hospital and free up a bed for sombody that can be helped.

I am five feet eleven inches in the old measurements, and I only weigh 75 kilograms, or 165 pounds to an American reader. I have been thin all my life although I eat well, however a few years back I was looking at one of those BMI calculators in the pharmacy as I waited for a prescription to be filled. According to the scale, I only had to put on 7 kilograms, (16 punds), to be in the “overweight” category for my height. One look at me, and any reasonable person would find that laughable.

Harvard you are the stupidist asshole EVER. KG will probably have to delete that gross fatass link just so he can finish his brew without puking.

Sometimes i wonder if more and more parasites should just be added to the state behemoth, eventually they’ll have to bleed the wretched thing dry right. Maybe it’s a way of hastening the collapse. Maybe the only way out of this is to break the thing so nothing more can be sucked out.
