That’s the problem with fads,

juveniles move on so quickly.
‘..Fairfax has barely bothered to promote its annual darkness festival, and the usual Earth Hour boosterism from the ABC and others is utterly absent. It’s almost as though people aren’t excited any more about turning their lights off for 60 minutes…’       via Tim Blair

Conversation with my brother regarding earth hour.

“So are you participating in earth hour?”
-“What’s the point. The power plant generators aren’t going to spin any slower just because everyone turns their lights off for a few minutes.”
“Yeah, but, it’s also about spreading awareness…”
-“Name one person in the nation that isn’t ‘aware’ and I’ll play along”.
    *silence…

Almost all leftist fads are crocks of crap at the end of the day, they’re not about actually achieving anything or getting real results. They’re mainly about a vain group of followers totally disconnected from reality wanting to feel good and smug about themselves.

After all we still have their stupid carbon tax so why bother switching the lights off, they wanted the carbon tax to save the planet, if it isn’t then why do we have it.

The most corrupt ‘fad’ is environmentalism with the US EPA top of the corrupt shitpile.

That whole organisation needs to be scrapped. A bunch of zealots, tyrannizing the taxpayer on the taxpayer’s dime. Bastards.

    • Cadwallader says:

The most corrupt fad in NZ is the promotion that Maoris actually had a culture before the Europeans arrived, and that that culture ought be nurtured from the tit of the taxpayer. The truth is there was a stone-age society which thrived on brutality and collectivism within the tribes until the Europeans tried to provide some sense of civilization. The cost of this nonsense continues to outweigh the cost of the earth-warming garbage.

      • KG says:

What I found most offensive, Cad, was the insistence that I respect maori “culture” as equal to my own.
Once, when I pointed out the contrast between Salisbury cathedral and a maori meeting house I was immediately met with the accusation that I was a racist!
        Contemptible bastards.

If nothing else the Judeo/Christian heritage provided wonderful, inspiring and sustaining architecture. A journey around Canterbury however, reveals the savage destruction the recent earthquakes inflicted on the uninsurable churches. The demolition rate amongst churches must be far greater than other buildings. Unfortunately the weirdo greenies have, as is their practice, forgotten that churches belong to the individual denomination, but they are insisting taxpayers fund restoration. The most flagrant example is the Christ Church Cathedral which the greenies insist ought be rebuilt at the expense of the taxpayer.Hello, the Church community is resigned to demolition!

The problem with fads, is some people take them far too seriously. When the dad starts to die, the bullying, beatings and show-trials start:

There ya go Cad. My tribute to maori culcha.
