FFS!

‘Facebook, Twitter and other technology giants face fines of A$17,000 (NZ$18,350) a day if they do not take down cyber bullying material within 48 hours, when asked by the Abbott Government’s proposed e-Safety Commissioner.
Paul Fletcher, parliamentary secretary for Communications Minster Malcolm Turnbull, introduced the Enhancing Online Safety for Children Bill 2014  into parliament on Wednesday morning….’
Amazing, the nannying people tolerate in the name of “for the children”
Whatever happened to parental responsibility? Or to kids learning to cope with life as it is? It IS NOT the government’s responsibility to protect people’s hurt feelings, children or not. These meddling do-gooders are raising generations of whiny little wimps who aren’t fit or ready for the real world.
And all of us are paying with our liberties for this shit.

You know KG, I have never been able to understand this ‘cyber-bullying’ crap. I mean, it should be as simple to stop as blocking anyone who has sent an abusive message. What ever happened to “Sticks and stones…etc” or common sense for that matter?

    • KG says:

I agree, Michael. It all too often looks like an excuse to play the victim and get some attention.

  2. Michael in Nelson says:

Not quite your FFS but ‘FFS’ describes this pretty well. Remember, the Dems are still in the majority in the Senate.

  3. Brown says:

Its just that children have so little sense of self respect and personal value they will hang onto every word of crap via in social media as they desperately seek acceptance from people that should be ignored as trash. Shallow as puddles.

And the best to you and the FOD guy, DM, from both of us.
At 69, I’m busier than ever and I know how much it takes. Not that it’s too hard, it just takes longer to recover, yes?

  5. PC says:

I wonder who gets to define “bullying”. Most likely an easily-offended-bearded-cardigan-wearing-never-had-a-real-job-but-handy-with-a-clip-board type, I suspect.

    • KG says:

You bet. Somebody’s mate who used to work for the ABC, quite likely. In any case, it’ll be one of the leech class.

  6. GW says:

The left starts from the proposition that they know better than parents how to raise their children. Add onto that, at least on this side of the pond, neverending lawsuits for and . . . its getting tougher to be a kid and a parent these days. And as you point out, we’re turning out 21 year old adolescents — great for voting for the left, but useless for most anything else.

    • KG says:

I think the ultimate aim of the left is ownership of the children by leftist governments, GW.
      Bastards.
