Delingpole on the Clarkson fun

‘..Ah yes, “unacceptable”: that marvellously elastic weasel word so beloved by priggish liberal-lefties like Cohen. It masquerades as an objective standard, inviting us to believe that we inhabit a culture where everyone agrees what is “acceptable” and what is “unacceptable.” But what it actually tells is about nothing more than the personal prejudices of the gag-inducingly self-righteous, epically presumptuous, painfully right-on gimp who is using it…’
HERE
Yep – that and the much-loathed “inappropriate”.

School administrators seem to be the worst for using ‘that’ word instead of saying what vicious, abusive actions really are.

“..remedial actions designed to help them understand the inappropriateness of their behavior,” the principal, David Richardson, said in a statement.”
      Pardon me while I puke.
What these little scumbags need is a #12 boot up the ass and a stiff smack around the ear.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

If what I’ve read is correct, that’s what got Clarkson sent to the naughty spot in the first place!

  2. Wombat says:

Like the man says, it’s a phrase designed to invoke the idea that one dickhead is speaking on the behalf of our entire society.
I’ve stopped a few of these prick in their tracks.

“Blah blah and blah is unacceptable/inappropriate”.

    “Says who?”

Of course, that opens up the doorway to politely inform the wanker in question that they’re speaking for themselves and nobody else.

In one such incidence I was in the lunchroom when a progressive wanker was waxing lyrical about vigilante justice being unaccpetable. There would have been about 10 of us there and most were simply remaining silent on the issue.

Not me. I called them out on it. “You don’t have some bloody magical ear to the heartbeat of our cultural values, mate. And what’s more, if some prick did (x) to my (y) then I’d put the bastard 6 feet under and do the time with a smile on my face, knowing I’d saved someone else’s (y) from suffering (x).”

I was expecting for the other folks to leave me hanging but I was pleasantly surprised when the progressive wanker turned out to be the ONLY progressive wanker in the room. Everyone else agreed with me, including the women, who (shock and horror) lamented the loss of real men in society willing to take matters into their own hands.

Days like that one are what keep you going.

I’m no great fan of Clarkson; can take him or leave him depending on comment or situation – he is just another (wealthy) entertainer and sometimes he does, and sometimes he doesn’t and I remain free to watch, listen and evaluate according to my personal taste and social-political predilections.

However in this case as he appears to have got right up the nostrils of those troughing, Marxist-Socialist- Islamofascist scum at Al Beeb I cannot find it in my heart to do anything but cheer him on and hope he stuffs them royally in anyway he can.

Furthermore I gather that the Beeb (aka the ‘Guardian on Air’) is under serious DDoS attack at the moment – keep it up, Guys, send that treasonous abomination into electronic purgatory and keep it there for ever and day.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gifhttp://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

What probably gets up the collective noses of the Beeb apparatchiks in the first place is that Jeremy and the team get to drive some very desirable machinery. If there’s one thing leftists hate it’s people having fun, especially in cars. Cars are bad, cars are evil, cars are ideologically unsound, well at least for the peasants anyway.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_mail.gif

    • KG says:

Yep, John. That, and the fact that the program is irredeemably blokey–yet lots of women love it too!

    • Wombat says:

Clarkson shared a memorable quote on one episode.

He said (something to the effect of) “”Again, we must draw parallels with the US. Over there, when a tramp sees someone drive by in a Ferrari, he will say, One day, I’ll have one of those. Here, what he will say is,One day, I’ll have him out of that.

  6. Darin says:

Clarkson should produce his own show and run it on Youtube. It’s the new thing,TV is dying the same death the dead tree media is.

    • Yokel says:

Clarkson owns a 50% share in the show. In the days when it was first shown, that was the agreement that the BBC routinely came to with people who suggested shows.

    Can’t happen soon enough.
