   I don’t doubt that that they can claim ‘New Zealand’s human rights performance slipping’.

   The performance of the song-and-dance routine know as political correctness is indeed down to one show a week. They’re behind on the stage rental and they’re having trouble giving the tickets away in order to keep the seats filled.

   In other words, their performance is toast.

   Child Poverty: As all children are equally poor in the sense that they have no money, I assume this is a code phrase for “parents that make endless bad decisions” – can’t help there then.

   Gender Equality: It is illegal in NZ to discriminate against women. The only inequality here is that many women truncate their careers by taking time out to have kids. Good on them for that, but can’t help here either

   The Systemic Disadvantage of Maori: Say WHAT?!!!! Wondering how many billions have gone into “Treaty Settlements” so far? Feel free to toss some of this systematic disadvantage my way. Can’t afford further “help”.

   The Rights of Disabled People: Last time I looked disabled people had the same rights as me. I assume this is another code phrase for “special privileges for disabled people”. While I don’t have any issue with this, these are special privileges, not rights or entitlements. We do them because we want to help our disabled, not because they have an inherent right to our help.

   And don’t get me started on child and spouse abuse, because we all know where the problem is there, don’t we.

   Can’t fix that either.

     “Charity” was nationalised to “welfare” and now it’s on track to be recognised throughout the west as “entitlements.”

     In our mad world you are not “entitled” to the fruits of your labour. Others are “entitled” to them instead.
