For those people who kindly offered to help with the upkeep and maintenance of CR, there’s now a “donate” button on the right sidebar. It will be removed as soon as the target figure is reached. I can’t possibly express my thanks adequately.
UPDATE: Done! Thank you all so much, me and Gecko are amazed and humbled and grateful to you all. We now have enough to pay for another year’s hosting and for the tech help. I hope that one day we’ll be able to return the favour in some form to somebody in need. There’s always a spare place at our table. Bless you.

I can only find US $ or a Euro option. How does one contribute from NZ; send around a side of mutton?

I don’t feel good about this, because for ten years of CR I’ve never asked for monetary help.
But circumstances change, sometimes not for the better.

The edge of the desert is better than civilisation. I always missed the desert when I had to return to a town or city. Kinda “gets in” doesn’t it? And it leaves its mark on a person if they spend long enough there.

I too had problems with Paypal (wish I didn’t need them for the occasional pathetic recompense for my occasional pathetic scribblings) so left it to this morning to donate
only to find I’m too late
