He’s spot on,I went off on somebody today for suggesting we send troops to fight in Syria.Not one drop of American blood should be spilled in that shithole.The Syrians coming here don’t care enough about it to fight for it then why should we?
Damn right! Let the savage bastards sort out their own cesspit, none of them are worth a single Western life.
When they show they can clean up their own mess and cease their sectarian slaughter, then and only then might they be worth helping.

Sounds like they were knocking the “preppers” back. Which sounds about right given the way the governments of all the participating countries are going.
I imagine nothing has changed since my day and the rebels have zero air, NBC or serious artillery capability- because if they did, we would be toast.
The usual profile used to be insurgents at section level, small arms- mostly civilian weapons and they always hid out in the bush.

The idea that the bush offers safety and concealment for anything more than a very few people is one that just won’t die. No effective anti-government movement, no rebellion will work unless it’s deeply embedded in cities and country towns. A few clowns on the dole playing games in the bush doesn’t constitute a “resistance”.
(For reasons I can’t be bothered going into here, since I’m too old and too tired to teach those who cannot learn at least some basic stuff for themselves.)

I’ve noticed too that they never wargame against a population where every member old enough to walk is packing a gun.
And they never consider what happens when one of the insurgents gets hold of say a tank or some nifty shoulder fired stuff.
