2016

May you all have a very happy, prosperous 2016 and thanks to you all for the comments, food wrappers and empty beer cans and wine bottles. So far nobody has claimed the package marked “C4 -Recreational use only”, the lady’s underwear and the shaved Rottweiler. After the third of this month they”ll be donated to St. Vinnies.
Oh…and to start 2016 off right:

Aah, the lady’s knickers and shaved pooch (I call him Barry) are mine. I was wondering where they got to – I was using them in the Nativity Play at the local mosque you see, and …

Happy New Year to you and Gecko, KG! And of course to all our Crusader friends. I trust 2016 will bring Hope and Change to you all, may it surpass 2015 in every way.

You can keep the C4. I hear it makes a good outdoor fire starter – just don’t burn too much at a time. :)

My New Years wish is that all the left wing video punidts, sports announcers and anchor jerks of the MSM are summarily replaced by zaftig latino former weather girls in spandex who are solid supporters of Austrian economic theory. ’cause diversity.

    Have we reached “Peak Leftism?”

    http://ronbosoldier.blogspot.com/2016/01/the-tracinski-letter-year-chickens-came.html

The “New Left” Revolution of the 1960s is finally beginning to eat its own children and the Democrat Party.

Karma is a bitch, commie boys and girls!

    • KG says:

      From your link, Ronbo:

“If I were to come up with one idea for how the left could cripple itself over the long term, it would be: teach your young adherents that ideological debate is an abnormal trauma and that it is a terrible imposition to ever expect them to engage in it. It is a great way of raising a generation of mental cripples. And that is exactly what they have set out to do….
“The most powerful historical precedent for this is the totalitarian creed of the Soviet Union–a dogma imposed, not just by campus censors or a Twitter mob, but by gulags and secret police. Yet one of the lessons of the Soviet collapse is that the ideological uniformity of a dictatorship seems totally solid and impenetrable–right up to the moment it cracks apart. The imposition of dogma succeeds in getting everyone to mouth the right slogans, even as fewer and fewer of them understand or believe the ideology behind it.”

Well, since Gantt was so quick to lay claim to the under garments, I suppose I’ll have to ring in the new year empty-handed. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif

Bliadhna Mhath Ur! A h-uile ni nas fhearr na cheile!

  13. Ronbo says:

    Well said, KG:

On November 8, 1989 – the Berlin Wall looked like it would last forever.

On November 9, 1989 – the East and West Berliners attacked it with tiny hammers and started its destruction.

Today it’s just a distant memory like the Soviet Union.

Yes, call me Pollyanna, but I think in the next year or two the “New Left” will suddenly meet the same fate.

Throughout the late 1980s I was confidently predicting the fall of the USSR and the Berlin Wall. There was something in the air at that time, call it hope or a strength of purpose. Maybe it was an American President pussy whipped by a British PM. My thought exercises went as far as to determine the emergence of Party apparatchiks taking over multi million dollar enterprises, black market arms sales, ex KGB thugs for hire, and all of the other bad things which came to pass. I did not foresee a Vlad on the horizon. The world really needs a Vlad in the Kremlin.

Ronbo, I do not share your optimism regarding the demise of leftist skullduggery. Perhaps I’m not conducting thought experiments like I did way back. Maybe I’m missing something. Sure, the Walls Gloamists are taking a bit of a bashing, but they carry on regardless. Their tactic of accusing their detractors of being racist, sexist, homophobic, capitalist slave owning kiddy fiddlers is getting a bit boring, but I can still see no end to their control. The USSR had an opposition, this lot only have no effective opposition. If we were to gather up all resistance beneath one umbrella we would still be woefully short of gaining total victory. The memes are ingrained in our children. A youth may discover the truth about the lies spun on one topic, yet not see the truth elsewhere. We need time, which we don’t have. We need the means to educate. We need plenty of sugar daddies to fund propaganda. We need to infiltrate the NGOs such as the UN, how can you do that? Ronbo, I really do hope you’re right, but I fear we may not live to see governments leave dogma to the churches and run the world according to pragma.

Now, I’m conducting a thought experiment involving Sunday opening hours, my state of mind, taxi bank holiday double fares, my state of mind, and the thinness of my wallet. Come the revolution, beer will be free, if only we can get someone to brew it for free. Now, there’s a thought…..
