who think paying back debts should be optional:
‘Students demand loans written off
Students make demands on grounds universities duped them by promising a degree would lead to a decent career…’
What, these clowns didn’t research the market for their chosen field before borrowing the money and embarking on several years of study? Pull the other one.
They’ve had a few years of pretending to do something useful and now the reality that there’s no market for African-American Transexual Politics and the Gender Implications of Peruvian Basket Weaving is somebody else’s fault.
It’s always somebody else’s fault.
As usual, the taxpayer (you know, those people who actually WORK for a living) will pick up the tab

    Now that they’ve taken health care and marriage, the next objective in the war on the “Bourgeois” middle class is “free college”. Obama has declared that goal and so has the socialist Sanders. This is just nothing more than the far left socialist troops starting the next campaign. Expect a bunch of similar strident “news stories” from the ministry of information as they work to condition the taxpaying public like they did on socialized medicine and gay marriage.

    I listened the other day to an announcement that the government was considering allowing students to pay off their university debts earlier by using their superannuation.

    The coverage crossed to a “student body leader” who I foolishly assumed would welcome the news.

    Nope. As far as she was concerned “the government should be funding the education sector better” (read: giving us more for free).

    Rest assured however that as soon as they’re earning 100k in some cushy public sector job they’ll have completely reversed their attitude on how many tax dollars the government should bucket into the educational trough.

    Colonial America and the Republic until the late 19th century didn’t have government schools – education was done at home, or by the church, or in private schools/colleges.

    What was the result? The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Industrial Revolution in America, the world’s first transcontinental railroad, cities, farms, mines and so forth – wealth creation on a time scale never seen before and all done without government investment, regulation, or oversight.

    Banks get bailed out by the taxpayer. Businessmen get to declare themselves bankrupt to wipe their debts….Why not the dumb assed ‘intellectuals’???
