“…on record” That’s always the key phrase because they never seem to tell you which record and how far back it goes. The satellite record only goes back to 1979 when the most recent cold spell stopped (remember the predictions of a new ice age in the 1970s).
The land based record has been so adulterated with ‘corrections’ that the official temperatures have little resemblance to reality. I find it difficult to express my utter contempt for those in the scientific community that still push this bullshit.
