Of course it was set up to fail. Obama’s plan is to expand Medicare when the exchanges fail. Expect Medicare to start buying up hospitals and practices with a view to turn this into a public healthcare system.

Agreed,but they won’t buy up existing hospitals,they will insist on building new ones.More taxes,more “infrastructure spending” to feather the beds of their cronies.

Unfortunately, we are both right. What is likely to happen is about half of the current hospital system will be bought out (the older, cheaper half, of course). Then, as throughput of patients falls, as it inevitably does in public service, more hospitals will be built. This will never keep up with demand and so you will eventually (sooner rather than later) wind up with an inadequate public service in conjunction with an expensive, underutilized private system, all at vast taxpayers expense. Sound familiar?

Hard to know if it’s malice or just plain incompetence. Here in Australia we had a Labor government that wrote cheques for dead people, and then grossly overestimated the revenue it would pull in from a mining tax.
Basically, I think, the left are just useless with money. It’s not surprising – so many of them end up as either journos, unionists, or lawyers. Careers where they’re not building enterprises but bleeding and attacking them.
Deep down in every lefty’s heart, there’s a rock solid belief that somewhere, SOMEWHERE, there’s a money tree that produces virgin notes by the fistful. You don’t have to work or struggle, just find that tree!

This is the time honored way a socialist government gets rid of it debts – default on the creditors by creating an economic meltdown, which involves hyper inflation……Think of as bankruptcy on a national scale.
