    Interesting item,seems this author,mother and professional psychoanalyst has written a new book that is catching some ire from the feminist left-

    “Erica Komisar, who penned the book “Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters,” links a recent increase in mental illness and developmental disorders in children with an increasing cultural devaluation of mothering.

    She said in an blog post for Book Culture that she made these observations during her 27 years in private practice as a parenting coach and psychoanalyst. Komisar cites data from the CDC, which states that antidepressant use in the U.S. has increased nearly 400 percent between the periods of 1988 through 1994 and 2005 through 2008, which offers some correlative–though not causative–support for her ideas.”

    The shock and horrors continue on when she asserts that mothers and fathers are not interchangeable.

      The border today is as wide open as it ever was….however, the simple announcement by the Trump Administration that a wall is being built and the laws on immigration already on the books will be enforced has reduced illegal immigration by a large percentage.

      Just think: when the border really has been sealed in a couple years, illegal immigration will drop to zero.

      BTW, I had a brainstorm about illegal aliens. The Feds should make illegal entry to the USA a five year felony and send the captured ones to GITMO – America’s Devil Island. I think we go legally do this since the captured illegals are not American citizens – no trial, no appeals – just the jet ride on CONAIR to GITMO.

      Can you imagine the chilling effect this would have on potential illegal border crossers?

      It could be the troll demographic gone into overdrive, but then they could have dominated before the election too and didn’t.
      It’s disappointing for me as a conservative son of the West that a lot of conservatives are so quick to grab at reasons to give up. ‘Oh, well, this has happened and that finishes it. We’re screwed good and proper now and nothing will fix it.’ I thought we were the people with the historical perspective – the team that could take the longer term view.
      FFS, he’s been in the Oval Office for three months. Give him a chance.

        I think Limbaugh has it right about Trump – he’s not into ideology – he’s not a conservative. So it would stand to reason he will make the hardcore conservatives – those who put their ideology – their sacred Principles – before country – unhappy.

        What Trump is – in my never humble opinion – is a Nationalist – a Patriot – one who is above politics and wants to do what he thinks is best for America.

        I think of Nationalism as a big tent in which people who love America have different ideologies, but are united in their opposition to International Socialism- or Globalism, if you prefer.

        I believe that most Trump supporters are like me. Yes, as a Ayn Rand Objectivist- I would like the State to be much, much smaller and the individual much more powerful; however, as a Nationalist, I have no problem being allied with the moderate conservatives and other people I disagree with in political terms because their Patriotism – their Nationalism – their love of the United States – is as great as mine.

        Jefferson Davis – the Confederate president was asked after the U.S. Civil War why the South failed to secure its independence from the USA, Davis replied – “The Confederacy died because of principle” – by that he meant to say, it’s ideology as a highly decentralized nation where the governors of various states often had more authority than the government at Richmond and could not come together even in the face of invasion.

        Today’s Nationalists will not follow the Confederacy to defeat, we will not die on “Principle” – we are not martyrs who allow themselves to be burned at the stake “on principle.”- We are canny survivors – who will live to debate our conservative friends on the fine points of capitalism and whether or not Ayn Rand had the best ideas on the subject, or was it Ronald Reagan?

        Men of good will can debate and compromise and put the issue to majority vote and agree to live together in peace whatever the result of the election….Men of good will, that is.

    Connecticut has renewed its demand that the federal government force western and southern states to stop sending air pollution here, but Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Wednesday he expects the state will have to go to court to force them to comply.

        I keep seeing these articles encouraging Americans to move and/or vacation in “hidden” New Zealand – Yes, the island-nation of great natural beauty and kind/intelligent/homey/colorful people you will just love as characters right out of a big budget Hollywood movie. .

    There are good tactical reasons for training and equipping large numbers of snipers at this stage of the civil war. In an urban environment they – and sabotage – will be the most lethal weapons, especially as far as demoralizing the opposition is concerned.
    (and by “snipers” I don’t mean merely good shots – those are ten a penny. All the other skills such as target I.D., ingress and egress, concealment and so forth need to be taught by competent people.)

    If the Berkeley cops continue to stand down during these riots between the Right and Left, it’s only question of time until someone decides to bring a gun to a fist fight – and open civil war breaks out there, because once body bags start to be filled, we will be seeing an endless cycle of revenge killings – and the streets of American cities will run red with the blood of patriots and traitors.

        Of course, we know Eisenhower and Kennedy called their bluffs and won the day, but those were different times – and the Democrat governors of the southern states not as foolish as Democrat governors like Jerry Brown

        Yes, like yourself I agree the DOJ needs to come down hard on these Leftist controlled police departments and Sanctuary Cities & States, but perhaps the Trump Administration is holding back out of fear of causing a bigger explosion that could be laid on them? One that they would difficulty controlling?

        What if federal cops and Berkeley cops start banging away at one another? What if Trump calls up the California National Guard to restore order in Berkeley, but the troops rally to side of the Democrat governor and point guns at the Feds?

        These are dangerous times….anything could happen.
