  1. This reminds me of my days in the U.S. Army – and the world as our playground.

    Yes, those were the days!

    Flying in big metal birds to strange foreign lands, meeting strange foreign people….and ….and…shooting them.

    FTA = Fun, Travel, Adventure.

    Some ran away from military service…

    But some came running…

      • I was a 98J40 – Electronic Warfare NCO with a secondary MOS of 11B40 – Light Weapons Infantry, but I was stationed on several Air Force bases to include Clark AFB in the P.I., Peshawar AFB in Pakistan and good old Shemya, AFB in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska.

        My MOS was the same as 205 in the USAF Security Service. I had lots of buddies in the AFSS. We often worked joint operation with the USAF in places like Berlin. We Army types loved being stationed on USAF bases because everything was better than on the Army bases – no KP, guard duty, details – our genial hosts took care of all that jazz.

    • In the best traditions of the Service, and as you’d expect. R.I.P. indeed.

    • Yeah, men like these, who are ridiculed and denigrated by people who aren’t fit to clean their boots. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif
