I’d like to hear theories as to how CNN and others stay afloat given their ever worsening viewership. I’ve got my own wherein the ownership of a fourth estate entity and the special access to info granted journalists in the USA plays an important role. I bet that is enough of a hint for many readers to guess.

      • Darin says:

41% decline in CNN “viewership”means that thousands of hotel lobby and airport terminal public TV’s were switch to a different channel.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

        • mawm says:

I read somewhere that a cheap key-fob remote can be easily programmed to the TV and used to change the station in public places. The guy who wrote it said he did it at an airport and 2 weeks later it still had not been changed back. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

When I would take my dad to the VA hospital,I would just walk in and change it.

Most times the answer was no,and please do

When DiFi came out with the letter, I was sure it wouldn’t pass the smell test. It is even worse than I thought AND of course, NBC and the NYT are wallowing in it. I’ve had dogs that liked to do that but at least with them a good bath would fix it.

    • Darin says:

Why yes,it does mine as well, one less perv to worry about. And we can expect more of this and not just against kiddy fiddlers.

The rule of law is collapsing, simple as that,No one in LE wants to do thier jobs anymore because the courts and prison system lack the logic and balls to punish criminals anymore.

I am in a situation rightnow with a customer at work who lied to a coworker and convinced him to load up $5000 worth of mechandise and materials and drive off without paying for it.Legally the customer thief should be arrested and charged with five felony grand larceny charges.Called the local cop shop and was told “oh,that’s a “civil matter”

I guess the next time my taxes are due I’m going to tell them it’s a “civil matter” and not pay them.

      • KG says:

We need more citizens’ justice. Urgently. And fewer effing bleeding-heart judges.

It becomes a ‘civil matter’ if it interferes with the donut run and diversity classes, Darin.

        • Andy5759 says:

That’s a bit unfair guys, there are some decent and brave cops out there. It’s their senior officers that should be held to account.

Anyway, here’s a chicken and egg type question. Our local cop shop closed at the same time as the Dunkin Donuts. Which closure caused the other?

          • mawm says:

I think that this can be squarely laid at the door of the judge, so to speak, for releasing him back into the community with such a low bail. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yes.gif

The cops themselves complain about the district attorneys not taking cases to court because they are not 100% slam-dunk winnable cases and that they might have a lower conviction rate when it comes to further political advancement, and about light sentences by judges.

            • KG says:

Perhaps I’ve had more dealings with the police than most people here, but in my experience the majority of them are willing Kapos.

Precisely so,there comes a time when basic human morality trumps orders.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

        • Michael in Nelson says:

KG, while I understand the sentiment, unless the crime is in progress I shudder at ‘civilian justice’ because of the high risk of the loss of rule of law. ‘Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law’ is a cornerstone of freedom.

  8. Alan says:

I remember back in the early 1960’s when I was a young cop, of an incident that happened in Palmerston North. A guy was arrested for committing bestiality with a cow. First thing the the next morning at breakfast, the Station Watch House Keeper threw a bale of hay into his cell, saying ‘what’s good for you girl friend is good for you’.

    • KG says:

Alan, I’ve seen police break the law, falsify evidence, lie in court and routinely abuse their powers.
We’ve all seen judges abuse their positions and politicians turning blind eyes to it.
Justice is the most important single factor holding a society together and – much as I revere the concept – police and judges are no longer fit guardians of it.
In fact, with some assistance from other sources they’ve effectively killed it.

  9. Michael in Nelson says:

So now we know when Kavanaugh’s accuser’s memory resurfaced…

Why am I not more surprised? The Left…LINE ‘EM UP AND (well you know the rest)

    • Darin says:

And the best part here is Kavanugh scares the left shitless

      • mawm says:

…and the left are going to win. There are just too many GOP senators who are wanting an excuse to derail Trumps SC nomination. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_negative.gif

        • Darin says:

It’s possible the answer may lay with in democrat internal polling.Maybe they know the so called blue wave isn’t forming and are as a result going for a final hail Mary before loosing the court for the next 20+ years.

  10. Pascal says:

When Kavanaugh eventually betrays the constitution, who will recall how the Left went all out so that all decent people felt compelled to defend him?

In my opinion, the Prog Statists want to drive all true resistors to despair.

How many wish to believe in Kav as many believed in formerly untouchable John Roberts?

The thing to do is have faith in no man, but be grateful for any man who rises above temptations and threats.

This is why Washington is the epitome of American statesmen and why Progs hate and wish to tarnish his memory.

    • Darin says:

Have you seen anything glaring that Kavanaugh is a stealth liberal?I have been looking and reading and so far nothing has turned up,so far as what I have seen.If I have overlooked anything, please tell me I would like to know.

As for this current depraved limbo dance the dems are doing.I think they have changed strategy.Despite our distasted from some of John Roberts decisions, since he and now Gorsuch have been seated the left has been taking a beating in the SCOTUS.Kavanaugh I think will only make things worse for them and they fully realise this.

If the “blue wave” doesn’t arrive,or comes in as a ripple what will have happened is,the republicans will have held the house and senate, possibly added a seat or two and several RINO’s will be gone-Good bye McCain,Ryan,Flake etc
If that happens,or if the republicans even lose the house,Trump will most likely get another nominee since RBG is very likely not to wake up one morning.

With all that in mind,I think what the Dems are setting the ground work for,is de-legitimizing the SCOTUS.I know they have been asserting for the past 160+ years that the SCOTUS is “the supreme law of the land”but now that the balance in the court will have completely flipped and once liberal “vapor rights” start being knocked down right and left they will simply argue that the court is now illegitimate…while simultainiuosly pivoting and going full bore with thier plan to control the political space thourgh the corporate structure they have firmly gotten hold of.

      • Pascal says:

No, nothing that stands out. What worries me most is that McConnell and other SKUNCs have been too cooperative with this nomination. Even Collins has been too tame.

My advisory is solely for our side not to be turned off by despair should he turn at some point. The Prog forces are illegitimate, but their reach is immense. Those who claim to have more faith than I need to keep it and reinforce it because it will be needed more then.

        • Darin says:

I added more since I typed that.

But I was thinking today, this is one of life’s decisions that’s hard to call.
I have a young friend, just out of the service,he is one of those what I can 1/2 percenters. He has it all, good upbringing, solid education, solid human being all around.
He’s getting married this fall,I know the girl he’s marrying, same with her, good family, good girl all around, but even knowing that I still wonder if he’s making the right choice given what I know can go wrong for him if it doesn’t workout.
In my mind that is the exact situtation conservatives are in with Kavanaugh. We have done all the research we can,all we can do is hope and pray.

          • Pascal says:

yup. your last words are my recommendation.

John roberts hacked by brennan/clapper. https://www.teaparty.org/brennan-clapper-accused-hacking-john-roberts-blackmail-324528/

We are left to speculate what if anything was found to blackmail him with. One would think he’d not cooperate if he was because then the cause of blackmail would be outed.

The problem again is that those who are permitted to rise in DC probably have a handle or they’d not be permitted to rise.

Pray that this situation ends, and with less damage than seems inevitable.

Oh, BEWARE: I’ve had concerns about this site’s credibility in the past. But the story is provocative, so I’m serving it up as a lead to consider.

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/7280954/high-cholesterol-heart-disease-evidence/

Well, there’s another few billion wasted on unnecessary treatment. Wonder how much the original cholesterol ‘researchers’ were paid for their results? Why is it so may of these medical discoveries are later found to not be true?

    • Pascal says:

If this is not just tabloid click bait, there is a $multibillion class action suit being prepared in behalf of those who’ve suffered from the side effects of statin drugs. I personally know 4, one who is lucky to be alive.

      • Darin says:

Hmmm…it’s almost as if the lawyers are in collusion with the drug makers to release drugs they know have major side effects. So the drug company makes record profits before all the side effects become known.
Then once the class action law suits start raining in the layers get to give the drug company shareholders a hair cut for thier share of the obscene profits.

My older brother was prescribed statins before there were generics availible.Nearly $150/month for 18 months.
The benefit? It lowered his LDL colesteral 1 point, maybe, and made him feel like he had been run over with a truck.

    • mawm says:

Michael – there never was any research to back up the claims about cholesterol and yet it found its way into the American Dietary Recommendations in about 1980. Statins were not around at that time either and are a drug developed to treat an imaginary problem. The costs of R&D have to be paid!!!!

A lot of “medical research” done over the years was not subjected to the scrutiny of todays trials, and on top of this medical “ethicists” prevent the kind of research done in the past. This has lead to “association as causation studies” by population comparisons for any number of habits rather than double-blinded, intention to treat trials with statistically significant numbers.
