You’re right again. I live in little Beijing. The opulence and arrogance is quite disgusting – and the belief that they own the place because of their visible “wealth”. The bigger and more ostentatious their car the higher up the social rank. Everyday they fill the streets around me in their SUV’s – not Merc or BMW anymore but Maserati, Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls SUV’s, and you had better get out their way as they barge through barely able to see over the dashboard. The nearby private school, the most expensive in Auckland, has barely a white face visible.
I suppose I can’t complain; I’ll probably sell my house for well over its value.
