‘The dominos are falling’

‘..One salutary effect of economic crisis is that it lays bare the political absurdities of the day.  The European Union and the Euro, built on the fiction that a single political and economic unit could adequately represent the needs and interests of both Ireland and Germany, Greece and France, has become the first to be exposed.  Sooner or later, the American monetary system and entitlement policies will follow, as they too violate the most basic laws of mathematics.  China and India’s overheated growth will also come to an end, and I expect civil war at least in China by the end of the decade.  We have some control over how easy or difficult these changes will be, but not on the ultimate outcome…’
