I’m sure a few trillion $’s to the IPCC will stop them.

That’s scary! I was on my old 29′ sailing boat once and saw a water spout a few nautical miles away. It was a bit of a panic moment as I dropped and secured the sails and fired up the auxiliary. It passed away in the distance but there were a few CH16 calls coming in afterwards about a missing boat.

Ever see something as a child that you couldn’t quite make sense of until years later when it finally clicked?
When I was 4 or maybe 5 years old, we used to live in a house that was maybe a mile from Lake Pontchartrain which is a saltwater estuary lake in Southern Louisiana.
Nearly everyday during the summer, Thunderstorms, some pretty intense, would roll in off the lake. Soon as they would pass, all the kids in the neighborhood would run out and play in the storm water. This one day I saw live fish, flopping around in the grass in the yard. These weren’t small fish either, some were several pounds.
I didn’t make sense at the time, but in my early teens there was a local meteorologist that gave a talk at our school and one of topics was water spouts and that’s when it clicked http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_smile.gif
