When I posted this to the last open house I was unaware this open house was imminent. I think it deserves more prominence so I repeated it. I hope you agree.

Interesting but nothing new in it.

I would like to emphasise that the process of informed consent has probably been one of the biggest changes I have seen in the Dr/patient relationship in my time. During my undergrad training there was a paternalistic attitude, especially from surgeons, that we new best and patients just had to accept that and take the treatment offered. Now days one could not get away with an attitude like that and it is essential to provide full and accurate details of the procedure/drug and possible complications in a manner that the patient can comprehend, and to answer accurately and honestly any questions they may raise.

Once that has been provided then the patient without any coercion or pressure has the ability to make an informed choice whether to accept the treatment or not. Obviously in order to provide the information there has to have been the collection of accurate data which will come from properly conducted and appropriate trials to asses outcomes – most notably safety, comparisons with alternative forms of treatment and the maintenance of a proper adverse outcomes reporting system. None of these have been done to an acceptable standard so it is impossible to get informed consent.

The military have always coerced their members to take vaccines against diseases endemic in places they may be serving in. There is an ethical standard here according to Dr Ponesse where the threat from the disease has to be real and significant and the protection offered by the vaccine has to be safe and effective. It’s a risk/benefit equation that has to be of significant benefit before any mandates can be applied.

The US military and all our liberal Western democracies have failed in gaining informed consent and have coerced millions of people into taking a vaccine with questionable efficacy and safety. This is medical malpractice, and most probably illegal in all jurisdictions.

We have known for some time that the self-identified left, and the further left the worse, are mentally unstable. It would seem, like bees to a honeypot, the paedophiles have been attracted to the left …. because they find kindred spirits and a safe haven. Disgusting!

It would seem that Biden’s “advisors” have shot themselves in the foot (again). It would seem that in their haste to cover anything Ukraine as the “good guys”, and Putin as the devil incarnate, the freezing of Russian assets in the West and cutting Russia from the SWIFT payment system hasn’t worked out quite like they wanted. While Biden plays checkers tiddly-winks Putin plays chess and his move to link the rouble to gold and his demand to purchase natural gas in roubles (I’m sure oil will follow) has probably spelled the end of the petro-dollar. This is a massive shake up of the world monetary system.

There was one report (I can’t remember from which outlet) on Orban’s re-election that labelled him a ‘Putin supporter’. I’m taking that to mean he isn’t grovelling at Zellinski’s feet.

      • mawm says:

You are probably correct. A quick look on the net shows all the usual leftwing news outlets labelling him as such and failing to acknowledge the magnitude of his victory.

        • Darin says:

And as usual in the run up we had all the usual media electioneering stories with headlines like “lead narrows” ” a tight race is expected as the race tightens” etc, etc, when they knew full well it would be a blowout.

My biggest mental struggle lately has been trying to comprehend why anyone would support any politician, much less a political party, that promotes the destruction of the nuclear family, keeping the population subjugated with lies and fear, corrupt children and butcher the unborn.

Paying women to have babies without a father present in their lives, failure to report all the facts about an experimental medical treatment but requiring its use, encouraging dangerous life choices by young children and abortion are the cornerstones of a house built on sand.

  10. Michael in Nelson says:

This morning I rang the local office of my MP because I had sent an email to the Hon Boyak regarding some aspects of the COVID policies. I got a reply saying my query had been referred to her local office for them to answer. I rang the local office about two months later because I got no response. I rang today for the same reason.

The young man on the other end agreed to look into the issue. Before we disconnected, I posed another request for the policies the government intended to implement to achieve the stated goal of zero road deaths at some date in the future (2035? 2050?). I explained to him that any rational thought process would be forced to conclude that such a goal was impossible without removing all vehicles from the roads.

He then made the mistake of trying to make me out to be uncaring of road deaths by saying that any number other than 0 would be saying a level of deaths was acceptable. I immediately told him to stop right there. That his argument was not valid and saying by arguing the goal was impossible to achieve I didn’t care for those who died was absolutely not true. He was making a connection that did not exist and I was not going to let him get away with it.

I don’t think anyone had ever challenged the irrational thought processes he had been fed and he seemed almost shocked someone would challenge it. However, I think he did realise his ‘logic’ was flawed and agreed to send me the policies proposed to achieve the zero deaths. I wish him luck.

I see the ads for ‘reasonable’ speed limits has begun.

    • mawm says:

The government’s goal for zero deaths has no grounding in reality. We live in a country with poorly skilled and badly behaved drivers, an ageing car fleet without modern safety features, poorly engineered roads without protective barriers along steep drop-offs, poorly maintained roads and lazy law enforcement. The decreasing speed limits is just a way to try and hide the failure to spend money on our roading.

      • Michael in Nelson says:

I see you noticed some of the real reasons. I felt like telling the gentleman (hope I haven’t misgendered) that enforcing the road code for anything other than speeding might be a good place to start (like forcing cyclists to indicate). http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

        • mawm says:

The road code says that cyclists need only indicate when they are able to. I have to turn into my driveway halfway down a steep hill. It is impossible to indicate because both my hands are needed to brake. Other than that I believe indicating my intentions to drivers is just one part of protecting myself from them. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

          • Michael in Nelson says:

You are one of the good ones mawm. Cyclists here (especially those wearing lycra) often don’t indicate, ride two abreast or run red lights. A cyclist who indicates properly is, unfortunately, the exception rather than the rule.

          • mawm says:

The code also says it’s legal to ride two abreast. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_scratch.gif I think the wrong people represent cyclists when these things come up for discussion, but then I don’t wear lycra.

That he is so open about it and still gets re-elected makes one think that either he is elected fraudulently or the grass root republicans are ill/misinformed or stupid. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

      • Darin says:

The GOP establishment has an effective strategy in place for killing new candidates while still in the crib. They do it to keep a lid on primary challengers and insure that their anointed one is the candidate on the ballot come November. Once that’s done, then the voters get stuck with the same old “big POS -vs- Even Bigger POS” choice in the voting booth.

So basically, China Mitch keeps getting re-elected,because the GOP establishment makes sure he never faces a real primary challenge and because the Democrat alternative is usually someone far worse.

Both party establishments have a huge advantage over any grass roots challengers. It comes in the form of money and people. They have the money and the people to engineer and prosecute political races 24/7/365. You and I and Joe the Plumber don’t, we are too distracted with working for a living or raising family to devote that much time, for possibly decades, to take down a political empire.
We saw a rarity happen in Trump. He had the financial resources to fund much of his run and the organizational stamina to keep pace. That was also one of the biggest reasons they all pulled knives out on him. Here was this guy that wasn’t part of the establishment running like a Bull in a China shop. Can’t have that you know.
