    I can remember when Americans were asked to pray for Liberty and Freedom and that seemed was enough because other bits were going along pretty well. Sadly, now the list has grown to include equal justice for all, the rule of law, individual rights, truth in journalism and morality in education. No wonder many seemed overwhelmed with the task of redeeming the nation.

      Zeldin actually predicted this shortly after the attack. The left certainly approves of violence against anyone who opposes their agenda. Hochul sent out a notice calling Zeldin a dangerous extremist. Who can blame the guy for trying to take out such a terrible person? (apparently the left is saying it was just a small knife)

    “President Biden has developed body aches and a sore throat but is tolerating the Paxlovid treatment for COVID-19 well, his doctor said Saturday.”

    Not that the President is experiencing additional symptoms. At his age and with the boosters, that was almost a certainty. No, what interested me was the comment that he “…is tolerating the Paxlovid treatment”. Does the Paxlovid treatment have deleterious side effects? (I know it increases the chance of a second COVID infection)

      About three years ago, I had the chance to go on a tour through the Sage factory (maker of high end graphite fly fishing rods). I was surprised at the amount of human labour still involved to get them right.

        That’s quite heavy.

        Just a few of my thoughts.
        On philosophy – “a theory or attitude that acts as a guiding principle for behaviour.”
        On morality – “a particular system of values and principles of conduct.”

        The Bible provides a philosophy for individuals and society to coexist and is as applicable today as in the past, and civilised society the morality or the boundaries to behaviour. Both of these have been attacked by those who wish to destroy such societies. These persons have done so from various angles for various reasons but in the end it distils down to control of a compliant population. How they achieve their idea of utopia invariably results in the punishment of the unwilling and as we have seen in the 20th century usually results in the culling of the dissidents.

        The modern day Machiavelli comes in the form of excessively wealthy technocrats who think making money through a particular skill has bestowed on them the wisdom to decide how others must live. Invariably these technocrats have neither the intellect to formulate a philosophy to guide modern behaviour nor the morality to set out an ethical system of values and principles of conduct, so their modus is to install fear – fear of disease, Armageddon and death. Their enemy is an educated population that sees through this and resists in large numbers.

        It does seem that self-anointed “elitists” have a belief that part of their “saving” of the human race is to reduce the number to manageable amounts for their plans to work. Billy Goats is probably the most evil and has tried for years to use vaccines to reduce birth rates or reduce populations as is his stated agenda. His hand can be seen behind much of today’s societal instability.

        I apologise – that got a bit long! Should you republish your essay? I don’t know the answer. It probably depends on whom it is aimed at.

          Thanks mawm for you thoughtful response. In your own way you restated a portion of what I had written without the heavier baggage. There was a article I’d read in the early 2000s about the rise of Neo-Paganism being inculcated in schools that had set the seed for the piece you just read.

    So…Biden announced today he tested negative for COVID. I don’t think he should get too happy about it just yet because he took Paxlovid which allows for reinfection (just ask Fauci) with more serious symptoms. I would not be surprised if he relapsed.

      Treatment with both Paxlovid and Molnupiravir leads on to a rebound with numerous patients. What is worrying is that using these inadequate drugs is going to result in viral mutation. Are they actually trying to promote a never ending pandemic?

        The Governor has the authority under the Florida Constitution to suspend state officials for reasons of misfeasance, malfeasance, neglect of duty, drunkenness, incompetence, permanent inability to perform official duties, or commission of a felony. The Governor has further authority to fill that office by appointment for the duration of the suspension.

    I was just thinking…I’ll bet those who pushed the vaccines the hardest will suddenly realise how dangerous they really are as soon as Donald Trump announces he is running for President again. The mRNA jab will suddenly become anathema because Trump initiated Operation Warp Speed which resulted in their development and emergency authorisation.
