over the first beer of the day:
HasĀ America simply become too big and too fractured for effective Federal governance?
“Diversity” could once be celebrated by honest people at both ends of the political divide, because the context in which that diversity existed was pretty much agreed.
Not any more. Diversity is now the codeword for various interests scrambling for political and financial advantage and damn the context–in fact the context is now considered outdated and immoral by certain academics and activist judges of a pinkish hue….
Perhaps it’s time for the States to reassert their rights and Washington be damned. Because any serious attempt to fix America at the Federal level will result in blood on the streets. After all, the entitlement class are never going to go gently into that good night of personal responsibility and duty.
The various States could raise the drawbridge and lower it only for those who subscribe to an agreed set of values and qualifications for residency. Such as minimal welfare, minimal government and maximum liberty. (Or, in California’s case, those who believe in a free lunch, healing crystals and Oprah Winfrey)
And damn the Supremes–that’s what the National Guard is for, if only to stare down the Feds.
Perhaps only a massive flight of human capital from the donkey states will ram the message home, the message that it’s Tuesday in America.
