‘Hundreds of students have protested at universities across the country today as an ACT bill making student association membership voluntary is set to become law this week.
……Around 500 students at Auckland University, dozens at Waikato University and about 50 at Otago University rallied against the bill and education cuts from 11am.
…..New Zealand Union of Students’ Associations co-president David Do said students were growing increasingly frustrated and appalled that the Government was ignoring their voices.
“We are against [the bill] because this threatens student services. It also undermines the independent voice as provided through the association,” he said…’     source
Get that?  Membership must be compulsory so the Student’s Associations can be funded to push their marxist agenda. Individual students are apparently incapable of deciding for themselves whether they want to belong.
