UPDATE:  Trueblue NZ has a great post on this–he’s as angry as we all ought to be.  I wonder if the braindead cheerleaders for the crypto-socialist NZ National Party will even acknowledge that the Nat’s slimy and duplicitous ‘Emissions Trading Scheme’ is based on a series of lies and is no more than a convenient vehicle to tax the productive still more?  Calling Adolf from ‘No Minister’……answer this, if you can.

    Go Delingpole! Makes even more a joke of NZ’s Emissions Trading Scam and the Carbon Tax that wouldn’t be under a Government led by the Endangered Canberra Woodpecker!

    One question, from reading the email excerpts in Delingpole’s article… was the bureaucrat from the Department of the Environment really named ‘Humphrey’? Lends more weight to my long-held assertion that Yes Minister was a documentary!

    Snowed under with work at the mo, but the revelations in these emails really pissed me off.

    Those so called scientists are just left wing agents. The left wing has just got in everywhere, even science, and totally fucked everything up. Destroyed all that was ever good. Fucking evil.

    Delingpole is wonderful at de-bunking this crap.

    To quote Carl Sagan: ” All science asks (us) is to employ the same levels of skepticism we use in buying a used car…”
    And: “The tools of skepticism are generally unavailable to the citizens of our society. They’re hardly ever mentioned in our schools, even in the presentation of science…”
    And “Those who have something to sell, those who wish to influence public opinion, those in power, a skeptic might suggest, have a vested interest in discouraging skepticism.”

    In Sagan’s book “The Demon Haunted World: Science As A Candle In The Dark” he observes how we have come to accept shoddy standards of evidence when addressing the passing fads of momentary hysteria. He didn’t live to see the climate crap we presently endure but I am sure he’d have been vitriolic in his critique of it.

        You’re not kidding!
        I have tried to become an amateur physicist in later life and along with Sagan I truly admire Feynman, Planck and Cox. (Not to forget Ernest Rutherford.) I find the intelligent enquiry of physicists truly breathtaking and ask myself why we bother with the pointless trivia of politics when there is a huge and beguiling universe to ponder…endlessly. :!:

    Yet again: Freeman Dyson a British (now American) mathematician set out to establish that AGW was true, by way of applied maths. He found, instead, that mathematically even if all the fossil fuels on the planet were ignited in the same milli-second the heat generated by the conflagration would not alter the air temperature within earth’s atmosphere beyond the time of the firing. In other words, there cannot be a cumulative growth in air temperatures due to the burning of fossil fuels as the climate loons preach.
