       LOL. Even the French have an exception: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tours. Approximately 800 years before the battle of Vienna they defeated the caliphate.

       The Franks were great warriors and their spirit lived on in Charles de Gaulle who was a great warrior and never gave up, even after the Americans and the Brits shat on him – he prevailed in the end.

       And here is another French warrior of WW2 who never quit and did his bit and then some

     Well, yes (and I realise you’re tongue-in-cheek, KG), but of course the reality is that, despite the distance, it will spill over onto we far-flung “colonies” – just watch for the floods of refugees/escapees (of a different kind to those we’ve been inviting in).
