Teen, 16, arrested in Turangi attack

‘A 16-year-old has been arrested in the case of a five-year-old girl assaulted at a Turangi campground, police say.
The youth, from Turangi, has been charged with sexual violation, aggravated wounding and burglary. He will appear in Taupo Youth Court at 2pm tomorrow.
“As a result of this work police became interested in a 16-year-old youth from Turangi and negotiated his attendance at Turangi police station this afternoon. He has subsequently been charged with sexual violation, aggravated wounding and burglary,” police said in a statement.
If this..thing..is found guilty and gets name suppression, CR will be pleased to publish the name.
Add: I’m curious. Did anybody, when they first read the news reports of this obscenity, really expect that the perp would be other than maori?

    16 years old, eh?

When are we going to stop pretending these scum are “youth” and start prosecuting them as adults?!

Castration would be too good for this low-life.

  2. KG says:

Exactly–the age of responsibility is utterly unrealistic.
Now, if this thing is what I strongly suspect it is, wait for the usual “we love you bro” and “he’s a good boy” and “he was abused himself” etc etc ad nauseum.

  3. Andrei says:

I think they knew who dun it all along – I saw a news report and something on it led me to believe the reporter who was reporting did too and the editor who put it all together and great care was taken not to jeopardize a trial.

  4. dondiego says:

WTF is “negotiated”?! -And ending with pithy opinions?: Why the hell would anyone want more of “what N.Z has to offer?
16 better be old enough for preventative detention. His whanau in the clink will surely share the ‘aroha’*.

*aroha means love for those of you who live outside that nightmare
    -whanau equals extended family

Feel free to delete this comment if/when the ‘culture’ lesson offends your sense of decency

    • KG says:

What offends my sense of decency is what Mawm points out:
“We are being ruled by “obligations” to Treaties, Conventions, Memorandums, etc. that our lily-livered politicians sign us up for without our consent ..”
and that has pissed me off for a very long time. Half of what ails us can be traced back to that.

  5. KG says:

Lindsay Mitchell objects to what she regards as “collective judgement” of maori..

  6. ZenTiger says:

Underage? Well perhaps it is time we hold the parents responsible as much as (not instead of) the teenager caught in this crime. If it was negligence in his upbringing, then throw them all in jail, pending a review of the capital punishment laws.

    • KG says:

It’s difficult though, isn’t it? Lots of parents do their level best but too often peer pressure and lousy influences fill the gap caused by both parents working. And since the State presumes to tell people they can’t discipline their kids in ways that actually work, it’d be a bit rich for the State to then hold them responsible when a kid goes bad.
And who decides what constitutes “negligence? Social workers? The same social workers who think that normal boy’s exuberance and activities are now ‘inappropriate’? Who don’t seem to be able to recognise real child abuse even when it’s gnawing on their ankles?
      No thanks.

  7. Flashman says:

How can this scumbag have his arrest “negotiated”, be considered “under age” and thus eligible for trial in a “youth court” [by pc little kiddie rules]?

If he’s old enough to get hard and go at a 5 year old, he’s old enough for Rule .303.

    • KG says:

Absolutely. Do adult crimes, then he should be treated as an adult.
If guilty I’d like to see him killed about a nanosecond after the verdict is handed down..

  8. Katie says:

He will get a slap on the wrist plus counseling. Then the “experts” will call him “safe to be in society”. He will then re-offend and do it before his 17th birthday. Such a wonderful system you have.

  9. kowtow says:

I was struck by the “negotiated” thing too. Clearly it’s a code word but for what I’m not sure.Could be gang, could be his family were in touch with a lawyer, could be a few things but it’s not a good look for the police.

Today’s news includes a very small item about the release of a 1991 murderer, called Roma. He murdered a 7 year old in a home invasion. Also tried to kill the boys father and brother.
He got “life” for that. Was released on parole in 2003 and recalled for breach.Parole Board have released him again.

What a mockery of the “life sentence” and of the victims.

  10. Oswald Bastable says:

I would hazard a guess the ‘negotiation’went something like this:

The one charged was a suspect from hour one. DNA samples were taken. As soon as the results were in a phone call was made to the family, telling them that he was busted and they should bring him in quietly or in ten minutes the house would be surrounded by police (uniformed) and the world would know- and possibly have time to gather rope, burning torches and pitchforks.

  11. Oswald Bastable says:

I’m sure the insanity defense will be attempted.

But I would say that anyone who would do such a thing is barking mad.

In my world, insanity just gets you off the flogging and two years solitary to contemplate the afterlife and we proceed straight to a lethal injection.

  12. lofty says:

Yes yes lets get a vigilante group toether and bust this mofo out of jail, then lets line him up and shoot the f….er with good old .303.

Who cares if the maori bastard hasn’t had a fair trial under our judicial system? just shoot the mongrel.

You people are beyond the pale, we do actually have a very good judicial system that will decide on guilt.
The sentence however will be a different matter.

I don’t condone the actions of the perpertrator, but it is a slippery slope if you do not abide by the law.

    • KG says:

Show me, moron, where anybody has suggested shooting the asshole before he is convicted.
      You can’t.
Which demonstrates both your stupidity and the fact that typing one-handed causes a rush of blood from the head to the dick….
      Now, fuck off.

    • oswald bastable says:

Actually, on My site, it was hang the fucker on a good hemp rope. When (one could add IF) he is convicted by incontrovertible (read DNA) evidence. I don’t recall skin colour or ethnicity coming into it, either. All kid-fuckers should swing.

At the price of .303 ammo, I would pass and use my SKS.

    • Flashman says:

      Incredible!

The NZ “justice” system is well-known [infamous] for its lenient treatment of violent criminals.

All it takes is some manning/dryburg-type legal defense team to start playing the world’s saddest song on the globe’s smallest violin – and you know the rest.

See if you can hum the lyrics.

Here are the opening words: An Ode to Poor Wee Diddums, broken home, habitual drug user, has no clear memory of the events, consumed alcohol for six hours before the alleged offending, expressed remorse, lost his busted moral compass due to “the community” letting him down, scrote-boy is the *real* Victim here.

The only thing missing is the news that this ineffable sack of filth is a stand-up comedian, since that way it could be claimed “he made people laugh”.

  13. oswald bastable says:

And for those that would ask- would YOU open the trapdoor?- the answers is yes.
I have worked with such types, read their case files and could take their lives with a feeling of having done my duty in making the world a better place.

A lot of you have had sheltered lives, complements of rough types who take care of that you would rather not see. The beat cops, the paramedics and the A & E staff. Corrections. We have a different perspective. We try to look after the weak and keep the lawless from doing harm.

All we ask is let us do our fucking jobs,,,

    • KG says:

There’s not many who’ve led sheltered lives around here, Os.
The type you’re talking about take the safety afforded them by others who are prepared to get their hands dirty and then they enjoy the feelgood self-righteosness of “compassion” and “caring” while at the same time sneering at those who keep them safe…
They’re a particularly loathsome form of life.

    • Kris K says:

As a Christian – one who has absolutely no problem with the death penalty for certain violent/sexual crimes [and who believes there is biblical justification for such punishment by the state] – there is nothing which turns my stomach more than so called ‘liberal Christian’ types who will excuse all manner of violent and sexual crimes [16 year olds raping 5 year olds, or 17 and 19 year old (Maori) ‘youths’ who beat to death defenceless (white) men on their way home after a night shift].

These do-good enablers are much of what is wrong with our “no consequence” society.

  14. mort says:

so much for the PoS and the crime not being connected to the gang members down the street….

maybe someone needs to throw a piece of rope into the cell and let it do the honourable thing

  15. KG says:

No morals. No shame. No honour. No hang.

  16. CR says:

I am ashamed to be Maori. We have serious problems as a race and culture with violence and despicable behaviour that continues. I want to hang this guy from the nearest rafters and his parents too. Nothing excuses animal behaviour like this and blaming the Treaty and colonisation is just plain offensive as well. I hang my head in shame as should those in our culture and race who continue to procreate and raise these animals.

    • KG says:

Why should decent and law-abiding Maori be ashamed, CR?
Let the blame lay where it belongs.
And a lot of it belongs with the swine who have used welfare to bribe and manipulate people, to exploit the politics of race for their own ends.

But this won’t end until Kiwis stand up and demand an end to the welfare culture and there’s little sign they’re ready to do that. Welfare is the drug and politicians are the dealers yet people keep voting for more of the same.
It has to stop or NZ will be a basket-case within the forseeable future.

I first went to NZ over forty years ago and thought I’d found paradise. The least racially divided country imaginable, with warm, generous and kind people.
Every visit since (including several of years at a stretch spent working there) I’ve seen the downhill slide of the place, a slide into criminality and resentment and division and greed.
      And not just among Maori.
But Maori are and have by far the bigger problem. (I’m generalising here but generalise we must or become bogged down in qualifications). Generations, now, who think they can have pride and mana without also knowing both honour and shame. And of course they can’t.
So for pride and mana they’ve substituted anger and arrogance, resentment and mindless violence and because it brings them material benefits in the short term it feeds their sense of apartness and empty self-esteem.
The way home has to come from older Maori or it won’t come at all.

  17. KG says:

(And the current crop of Maori “leaders” are helping to destroy their own people, for their own ends.)
