Gingrich is right.

‘GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Thursday a U.S. apology to Afghan authorities for burned Qurans on a military base was “astonishing” and undeserved.
….Obama’s apology was announced Thursday morning. A few hours later, news organizations reported that an Afghan soldier had killed two U.S. troops and wounded others in retaliation for the Quran burning.
Campaigning in Washington state, Gingrich said Afghan President Hamid Karzi owes the U.S. an apology for the shootings.
“There seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama’s attention in a negative way and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States period,” Gingrich said.
“And, candidly, if Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan, doesn’t feel like apologizing then we should say good bye and good luck, we don’t need to be here risking our lives and wasting our money on somebody who doesn’t care.”
“This president has gone so far at appeasing radical Islamists that he is failing in his duty as commander in chief,” Gingrich said.’   source

I”ve said he’d make a good secretary of war defense. But I’d keep him as far away from being involved with international treaties as would be possible.

    • KG says:

Fair enough. But he’s telling the truth here, and I find it interesting that Santorum and Romney are silent about this.

      • Pascal says:

It’s hard to say that the other two are actually silent. Given that the press is not reliable in reporting anything constructive, if the other candidates said anything that wasn’t embarrassing, why would it be reported?

Gingrich speaking out fits their narrative of him being the angry badger.

I’ve begun to think like a Soviet subject. “There is no truth in Pravda and there is no news in Izvestia.”

I glean what’s really up by what is missing in the “news.”

        • KG says:

Hmmmm…I cruise a lot of news sites and blogs, Pascal and I can find no reference to either of them criticising Obama’s apology.
Something always leaks out and it beggars belief that this in particular is different.

          • Pascal says:

Exactly. I agree it is possible they did not say anything. But one of the things that seems to arise in politics is that when one candidate says something popular, the other candidates usually seek to up him. Thus I too find it beggars belief that this is different. There is no truth in Pravda The Agency of Lies.

At this link is the video showing Gingrich doing what he does very well. (His response to King’s loaded question about birth control.) It actually sounds like Romney was trying to interject in the same manner but Gingrich prevailed probably because of microphone engineering by CNN.

And at this link is a purported fact check on Gingrich and Santorum’s statements about Obama and the media’s silence which is fully spun liberal hackstering.

    • In the case of Obama, they used a lot of words trying to distance Obama’s excuses for not signing the bill preventing infanticide.
    • In the case of the media, they showed where the media in 2008 brought up the question of Obama’s position on that infanticide prevention bill EIGHT (8) whole times in all of 2008. (Oh, and Obama was never pressed in the one instance he was questioned to his face.) Just wow. Somehow Politifacts rated Santorum as “pants on fire” for complaining that it wasn’t 8 times an hour like the contraceptive issue and Satan talk is today.

Have a watch if this, stick with it and you will see she turns out to be the exact opposite of what you think.

It’s a good thing for the Camel rapers that I’m not in the White House, the bombs would not quit falling for ten years in that s—hole country.

I’m with Darin. Stop wasting money and lives fighting islamic wars for the scumbags. Just take our soldiers out and give the scumbags plenty of instant sunshine.
