Queensland Labor Party destroyed

75-6.       O, frabjous day!
‘With 70 per cent of the vote counted, Labor had scraped together just six seats, with the LNP picking up 75 in a 16 per cent statewide swing against the government. Labor needs nine seats to retain party status..’
Onward, to Canberra and to slay the next socialist dragon.

  1. Redbaiter says:

Now, if only we could stop all the Marxist voters from NZ and the other states from moving there.

    • KG says:

They’ll keep moving to Queensland, RB, because they’re too thick to realise why their own states (and NZ) are stuffed. Apparently Qld. has some sooper-seekrit magic formula that has nothing to do with ideology….

      • mort says:

One hopes the NZers moving there will be like 95% of their forebears, and never actually register on the electoral roll in an attempt to avoid the marxists vote or else strategy to improve turnout for their lazy-arse support base.

        • The Gantt Guy says:

Absolutely. I’ve been here (not *real* Australia of course, I’m in the Democratic People’s Socialist Republic of Victoriastan) 9 years now and have never (and will never) become a citizen for that one reason.

    • Andrew Berwick says:

Unlike NZ – Aus doesn’t give useless noncitizen bludgers the vote.

So unless they meet the criteria for citizenship, Marxist Kiwis won’t vote.

Just how stupid do you think the Aussies are?

  2. The Gantt Guy says:

Campbell Newmanhas a massive job of work to do, and a massive mandate to do it. Now, does he have the stones? First order of business: a fence right around the state to keep the Marxists from moving in.

    • KG says:

Dunno, Gantt. I fear the Key/O’Farrell syndrome, where they ride into power on the back of massive anger at the socialists rather than their own policies, then proceed to leave the whole dysfunctional machine in place rather than undertake real reform. Because they know the voters have nowhere else to go.
The answer is to vote them out again at the earliest opportunity if they do that.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

You’re probably right. What was Newman like a Brisvegas Lord Mayor? Genuine question – I dunno, and havent learned more about him during the campaign (except of corse that according to Captain Bligh he should be in prison for having rich in-laws).

It’s definitely a danger with an incumbent so hated the opposition doesn’t need to posit policy positions (nice alliteration for 7.45am, Sunday) but can slide to victory on the back of the electorates hatred of the incumbent. Like what happened in NZ, and NSW.

        • KG says:

Well, lefties hated him and bleat about him raising rates etc, but partly he was cleaning up the mess left by his predecessor, so it’s a bit of an open question.
The LNP has some excellent strategists, but a brilliant election strategy doesn’t necessarily translate into good governance, does it?

          • The Gantt Guy says:

Nrilliant election strategy? Like STFu and let the other lot hand it to you? Damn that Michael Kroger and his evil genius!

            • KG says:

 No, really, it was. They didn’t split the conservative vote (despite the best efforts of that lunatic Katter).

              • mort says:

all he has to do is sell off everything that the Govt has their sticky fingers into, pass legislation banning govt handouts for political parties, and abolish the unions, while pushing through state approval for the mining projects currently being held up by the lunatic fringe, and he half way to making Qld half way decent again.
If budgets need to be balanced he could then start in on withdrawing all funding for renewable energy, and related bullshit industires like AGW wool pulling ‘research’

  3. rivoniaboy says:

Labour destroyed in Queensland – How sweet the sound.

    • KG says:

It sure is, Rivoniaboy. I don’t care if the replacement is little better. The important thing is to get rid of entrenched socialists.
“3 years to reform or you’re out” needs to be the message.

  4. The Gantt Guy says:

Heh. Queensland hate Anna Bligh more than Fletcher Christian hated her great great great (mebbe too many or too few greats, but who cares) granddaddy William. He was cut adrift with 18 friends, she has only 4 or 5.

Sorry about the all-too-obvious and terribly crass analogy, but today’s a good day for gloating. :popcorn :whoop

  5. KG says:

Totally o/t: We’re sitting out on the deck on the waterfront with a couple of coldies, temperature 26c, watching a couple of black cockatoos in the tree above us on a rampage of destruction as they eat a breakfast of palm nuts. The mess they’re creating is awesome….to get from one part of a branch to another, they simply snip off everything in their way.
    I’m impressed and amused. :popcorn

  6. KG says:

And an endless procession of very nice lady joggers….

  7. KG says:

A perfect example of a government elected to stop the socialist pc lunacy, which does no such damn thing once in office: (NSW)
‘Report calls for 24-7 school zone fines’
    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/report-calls-for-24-7-school-zone-fines/comments-e6freuy9-1226309140505

    Utter fucking lunacy.

    • The Gantt Guy says:

No no no. Once again proving you just…don’t…get…it.

Some people are too stupid to figure out when it’s between 8.00 and 9.30am, and 2.30 and 4.30pm (the person in the long white trench-coat carrying a lollypop stick*, and all those small people wearing the same clothes and hats aren’t enough of a clue, apparently), and so, given it’s a problem and there’s no problem in society that can’t be solved by yet another government program, another government program is required.

*that’s how you tell the difference between a crossing guard (who do a bloody fantastic job, at least where we are) and a pedophile: both wear long trench coats, but whereas one carries a lollypop taller than he is, the other’s lollypop is somewhat smaller.

  8. KG says:

Sigh..all I “get” is wanting to be left the hell alone, to exercise my own commonsense.

    • The Gantt Guy says:

Oh no! You *need* the government to make sure you’re not discriminated against, and you receive all your ‘entitlements’.

Oh hang on, you’re a WASP male aren’t you? Well in that case, you *need* the government to stop you from exploiting minorities (which we in government define as ‘anybody not a WASP male’), cause the sea levels to rise and well, you know, exercise your own common sense. It isn’t too ‘common’ among many minorities (see definition above) and we can’t allow you to have an unfair advantage now, can we?

Dammit Andrew, where’s the gun smiley?

  9. KG says:

    I’m beginning to get it…..
So, it’s pay taxes, do not criticise protected species and shut the hell up? Am I on the right track here?

  10. KG says:

aaaah.. so that’s why all the Zyklon-B canisters. It’s an anti-nit program. The nice man in the hi-viz vest told me it was.

  11. Darin says:

Geeez a political Tornado this size calls for celebration!

Beer and the 1812 Overture here

  12. octagongrappler says:
    • The Gantt Guy says:

Your mate spooner will be crying into his organic muesli this morning! :whoop

      • Moist von Lipwig says:

What? A first-class masters in political science and can’t get a job
        hahahahahahhahaha indeed :whoop

(These whoops :whoop are useful aren’t they?)

        • The Gantt Guy says:

These types are normally fodder for the Labour Party, whether as aparatchiks or future candidates & MPs.

I wonder if Labour is too broke to hire these over-educated know-nothing socialists unable to find “work” anywhere else?

          • kowtow says:

It’s always some one elses fault. In this case it’s those horrible wacist Noo Zeelaners.
It’s not Wongs fault for doing the wong degwee!!
Now if he had done construction related he’d have shit loads to do in Chch and I don’t think anyone would care what his name is or eye shape or whatever.

How many political scientists does it take to rebuild a city or to dig lignite out of the ground?
Do something useful is the message that they need to get across.

            • octagongrappler says:

Its funny because I know of several WHITE kiwis who have degrees who cant find work after 18 months.

But its only a concearn to media when NEW Kiwis are struggling.

Anyway what does spoon expect. He said only those that speak mandain and can provide links to asia will find work in the future, Then what does he expect???

  13. mort says:

flip some fucking burgers in New Lynn dude, thats about all your useless degree is worth. perhaps you could go down the local noodle box and learn something more useful in 2 hours than you wasted 5 years doing up until now

    • octagongrappler says:

The thing is he got a job with a major telco so what was the issue???????

  14. Andrew Berwick says:

It’s not just QLD- it’s all of Australia.

There’s no way Labor can make a Federal govt without QLD votes and a QLD party.

But Labor is about to be deregistered in QLD

    bye bye Bligh
    bye bye Gillard
    bye bye Labour For Ever

Seriously: if the LNP plays their cards right – doesn’t give in to any stupid notion of “mateship” with the unions & Labor, we can wipe Labor out of Aussie politics forever.

But the real wake-up call — the vote %ages were almost exactly the same as in NZ, where Phil came within a whisker of being PM.

Can we have democracy back in NZ please?

  15. KG says:

The Leftist rag Melbourne Age has disappeared the Queensland result down the memory hole already. This from Andrew Bolt:
‘The Sunday Age front page, above the fold story is “A giant leap for footy” about the new AFL team in Sydney. Also above the fold, a discussion of the non-medically approved cancer therapies used by the footballer, Jim Stynes. Below the fold there is a major story, “Abbott’s nanny state” about who knows what. And then, in the bottom corner, where I almost missed it, there’s “Newman crushes Labor in Queensland: Pages 6 and 7”.
“Orwellian” is an over-used term, but that prophet’s vision has come to pass.

  16. KG says:

But on sale right now is the Sunday edition of the Townsville Bulletin. And splashed across the front page is this banner headline:
    LIBERATED!

  17. GW says:

Wow. I don’t know what you all snuck into the water (or the beer) of all the voters, but patent it and market it on this side of the pond before November please. This is the political equivalent Hiroshima. All I can say is congrats all. I’m drinking some Aussie beer in your honor tonight.

    • KG says:

Thank you, GW. Perhaps there is some hope after all, for democracy?
We shall see. After all, New Zealand dumped a similar lying socialist cow in a fit of revulsion, but her replacement has proved to be very little better. It’s pretty much “business as usual” there, and in some ways even worse.
(Talking to the locals here in Townsville, North Queensland and the reaction is one of satisfaction. Delight, even.)

  18. Flashman says:

In the previous election a smart-arse, odious ex-saffa by the name of Mechanick [sp] stood for the Queensland greens. He thankfully got comprehensively kerbed.

Two-faced git – all hot on st mandela until he shot through to Oz “to further his research interests”; yes, another academic.

  19. The Gantt Guy says:

I noticed David Garrett did a guest post at the kitten killer’s place today, so I went to have a read of it. It was a pretty good intro to Kim Workman, the cuddle-a-crim, close-all-the-prisons leftard regularly trotted out by the LSM on ‘prison reform’.

Anyway I had a little surf and of course killer-boy had a post up about the Qld election. Rebaiter had ventured into the sewer and was doing battle with the usual suspects. As is the norm, he was bloodying noses left and right, leaving a trail of broken, bleeding dickheads in his wake.

  20. KG says:

Redbaiter is a true warrior, a principled man and a conservative.
For the lefties, what’s not to hate?
I admire his persistence, because I simply can’t be bothered with scum these days. Life’s too short to waste on vermin.

    • The Gantt Guy says:

Exactly. It’s why I never visit Farrar’s troll farm and only went to the kitten killer’s because it was a David Garrett guest post. But Redbaiter seems to never tire of bashing the bastards! :gunner

      • octagongrappler says:

I was thinking of forming the league of new zealand patriots  Do you like the name guys??

  21. Great news indeed, I’ve been celebrating with spirits all evening, had to drive during the day, otherwise I would have started much earlier.

  22. OldmanRick says:

Gongrats, folks. Seems the conservatives did well. Fantastically well as a matter of fact. Hope we up north way do as well in Nov to replace the toddler..

  23. KG says:

I just found the most blatant spin in the Oz print (online) media:
    http://www.thepunch.com.au/articles/bligh-just-the-first-victim-of-anti-labor-sentiment/

    • The Gantt Guy says:

Yep. Just another Ancient Media Repeater, recycling the ALP’s press releases. And they wonder why their circulation and revenue are chasing each other down the drain! It’s good to see he’s being flayed in the comments.
