Indeed…

‘The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever.

In fact, it’s now running ads across the U.S.  to encourage more use of food stamps.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to “Please Do Not Feed the Animals.”

The stated reason for the policy is because the animals soon grow dependent on handouts, forget how to fend for themselves, and starve to death if nobody is there to feed them.
Thus endeth today’s lesson.’
I don’t know the source of this. It arrived by email with no source attributed.

To this should be added that the animals can attack you while being fed, aka biting the hand that feeds it. mawm

I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to “steal” this for my blog Monkey in the Middle.

It is just too much of the truth.

Hat Tip back to you of course.

  3. KG says:

Steal away, Katie–I can hardly claim ownership.

    Don’t feed the pigeons!

They breed more and more pigeons, which flap about and crap all over you.

  5. Mistress Mara. says:

Yeah Oswald, pigeons do breed and crap on us but they don’t cost that much to cull every now and then. The bird /animal welfare people jump up and down and keep the “humane” ideal alive. I like these folk and they will have some , if not most of my money when I die. Comparison between humans and the other animals in this situation is not useful.

  6. Makes perfect sense to a liberal.
