Breast-feeding zealots. And no, this is not satire.

‘The nanny state is going after moms. Mayor Bloomberg is pushing hospitals to hide their baby formula behind locked doors so more new mothers will breast-feed. Starting Sept. 3, the city will keep tabs on the number of bottles that participating hospitals stock and use — the most restrictive pro-breast-milk program in the nation. Under the city Health Department’s voluntary Latch On NYC initiative, 27 of the city’s 40 hospitals have also agreed to give up swag bags sporting formula-company logos, toss out formula-branded tchotchkes like lanyards and mugs, and document a medical reason for every bottle that a newborn receives…’       source

    I’m waiting for the day that Bloomberg is shot to death. This man has got to be stopped before he tries to do this to the rest of the US.

    It’s astonishing just how far the we-know-what’s-best-for-you zealots have got, not just on this one issue, but all over the place. How did it happen? Apathy? Or did we, the great unwashed, simply just not see it all coming?

      I guess the answer is on CR’s masthead: “The loss of freedom is like cancer; it will spread slowly but surely across all parts of society until our liberty has been utterly eaten away and we are left with nothing but a half-forgotten idea of what freedom was.”

    Yawn. They are so far behind us in implementing the UNICEF’s Baby-friendly Hospital initiative. Amongst some of the things they have done is banned the advertising and promotion of milk substitutes (International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes). Under this initiative each signatory country has to set up a program that forces encourages mothers to breastfeed. We have a wonderful crowd called the Breast Nazi’s Breastfeeding Authority set up by the Ministry. They are the usual mix of interfering busybodies and midwives who use the usual clap trap of its good for the baby and “you’re a bad mother” to “encourage” mothers to give their kids breast only for their first 4-5 months and continue until they are 2. (The Innocenti Declaration) :shock: The poor women are getting intimidated and made to feel a failure if they do not succeed.

    Just another way the UN is interfereing in how you live your life. :rant

    I had a dream last night…

    I was a judge in the French Revolution in robes of red.

    However, while everyone was dressed in 18th century French fashion, the dialogue was in English and the aristocrats were American Leftists – who, one by one, were quickly condemned by the people to joyous shouts and sentenced to the chop by the three judge panel.

    It was a labor of love, let me tell you, as we condemned big name American socialist after socialist to the painless and speedy death. We started first with the Big Feds, but by dinner had worked our way down the chain of command to the mayors…

    Mayor Bloomberg was shoved to the stage by the National Guard, who ordered the broken old RINO psychopath to stand up like a man before the Rage of The People. When I asked for his defense to the charge of high treason, the slug started to say something, but an ocean of outrage flooded the chamber, so we condemned the traitor to immediate execution.

    The National Guard marched out the subhuman filth to the death machine and the crowd became silent. In a final effort to live, Bloomberg broke away from the Guard and ran to me shouting, “Judge Ronbo: Tell them I was a republican and patriot!”

    The chamber waited in silence for my sage response.

    I looked down on the miserable and broken old creature from my high seat with a look of disgust and shouted so that all in the vast chamber could hear me:

    “I KNOW YOU NOT! GUARDSMEN DO YOUR DUTY AND EXECUTE THE ENEMY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!”

    Cheers…and Bloomberg was frog marched to his doom….A drum roll..THE BLADE DROPS…More cheers and voice proclaimed, “Behold the head of a traitor!”

    Yes, it was one of those golden dreams you wake up feeling like million dollars!
