um…the Lenovo is just an IBM laptop, Carol. And Linux is a project which aims to bring free computer operating systems to replace stuff like Windows and Mac.
Ubuntu is just one version of Linux, available free to download or you can buy the disk for about $3 postage. You can run it on the same computer as windows and just decide at start-up which you want to use.
