   Having just come home from watching “American Sniper” I conclude, among other things, that the ME is a hell zone, war there will never be won and that women are entirely unsuited to combat roles. Not because women are not brave or motivated enough but simply because they are not physically strong enough to do the job when it gets rough.

   So, a ~2 hour movie can’t precisely, word-for-word, replicate in graphical form a 448-page novel. Well, colour me surprised.

   I wonder how many awards Alyssa Rosenberg has to stack up against Eastwood’s. I wonder how many movies she’s made. Perhaps if the number of either is >0, she may have some credibility. Other than that, she’s simply replicating the leftist bile dribbled up by the likes of Michael Moore and Seth Rogen, but without the credibility of actually having made a movie. Just another America-hating, silly little girl given multiples more column-inches than her talent or experience warrant.

     And who said – who laid down a law – that movies are supposed to replicate in graphical form any bloody novel?
     In any case, it’s a movie, not a documentary and even without having seen it I’m willing to bet Eastwood gets closer to the truth than some MSM “documentary” would have.

   Also in the Herald is a front page article touting the police catching 640 motorists in a 24 hour, 84 checkpoint blitz. KG, you know I do science for a living and the numbers jumped out at me as bloody expensive! 24X84 = 2016…times at least 2 men per checkpoint = 4032 man hours just on the check points. 640 motorists caught, with an estimate average $500 fine is $320,000. However 4032 man hours at $100 per hour (standard charge out) means a LOSS of over $70,000 before your figure in the court costs. The NZ taxpayer got royally screwed again!

   My comment that the “NZ HERALD” will likely not post:

   The Islamists started this latest round in a very long war on September 11, 2001 when they hijacked four airplanes and guided three of them into occupied building to kill over 3,000 innocent Americans.

   This was a cowardly and dastardly declaration of war upon the people of the United States.

   It was the Islamic enemy who drew First Blood.

   The rapid response for this terrorism was the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.

   During those wars over 100,000 bad guys were killed by American and Allied forces.

   Chris Kyle and the other military members tore the heart out Islamist terror (for a time) and did so in the service of justice.

    From what I read, Alyssa’s main source of anguish is that Mustafa the Syrian sniper wasn’t given enough depth, perhaps it lacked the praise and adoration she quietly feels for him.

    Perhaps there were some fantasies of riding bareback on an arabian stallion, being chased down by a handsome liberal, pro-feminist mustafa type in the desert or something.
