Snouts in the trough

What Wabbit thinks of as “The Club”:
‘A panel of high-profile New Zealanders charged with selecting a shortlist of new flag designs will each pocket $640 a day.
The 12-person panel includes reality television guru Julie Christie, businessman Rod Drury, and Nicky Bell, chief executive of ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi.
Panel members will receive $640 per day worked. Chair John Burrows, the former deputy chancellor of the University of Canterbury, will receive $850 per day worked…’
The Key government has allocated $25,000,000 for this sham exercise in “consultation”.  Even before it polls Kiwis to see if a real majority are in favour of changing the flag!

It looks like another excuse by the NZ Leftists to raid the treasury…They this from their pals in this country where something like 10% of the federal budget is AWOL…MIA…GONE WITH THE WIND :!: Over $100 billion :!: PUFF :!: Very mysterious :!:

Well, we know where “gone” has gone – into certain Leftist bank accounts and deep pockets.

The only difference between the raid on the treasury by the Left in New Zealand and the United States is the scale of the take.

with selecting a shortlist of new flag designs

Eeny……meeny…..miny….mo  Not very hard to do!

To be fair those named don’t need the money and in their normal day’s work will earn far more than that.

  5. Michael in Nelson says:

Disappearing money? Just ask the Hillabeast. She lostUS$6 billion from the State Department, but managed to find and extra $2 billion in donations to the Clinton Foundation from foreign governments.

  6. Wombat says:

I’m barely old enough to remember the good old days, when serious fraud was measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Now? People toss around the word “billion” like it’s pocket change lost down the back of the couch.

  7. Redbaiter says:

I’ve just spent an hour or two researching the panel members to try and arrive at a reasonable prediction on how they would vote. Check it out on my blog. I’d say 11 probable change proponents to one possible opponent. Just another John Key stitch up.

    So much deceit.

    1) The original selection panel heavily influenced by National. winston Peters withdraws in protest.

    2) Referenda process is a complete hoax, with the first referendum designed ot soften us upp for the change.

    3) The panel selected in 1) above stacked beyond coincidence with progs and social liberal and racists/ separatists etc etc.

The whole process has just been the most outrageous hoax.

  8. Lara says:

At least Key has to have a referendum first, before changing it, and it will be hugely against. Is he really going to still go ahead and change it then? Not with an election around the corner by that time. It’s just a huge waste of money and an ego stroke for Key. The bastard has no morals at all. High treason, he so treats the people he supposedly represents with contempt. But look at the polls. Hardly anyone wants change…I don’t see Key getting his way this time.

  9. Tom says:

Why bother anyway,By the time Jon Kee is finished we can just use the Chinese flag.
