Andrew Bolt:
‘Australia today. Lawyers have told me it is too dangerous for me to correct an incontrovertible error of fact in the ABC’s description of a long-dead activist.
The ABC is free to tell a falsehood. I am not free to tell a truth.
Nor am I able to report another incontrovertible fact: the findings of a fascinating survey by academics at Charles Darwin University.
Hence I am unable tomorrow to make relevant observations on an issue of great and topical public importance, thanks to a truly insane law prohibiting free speech.’
I don’t believe for one moment that Bolt is at any risk at all if he posts links to the ABC item and the academic survey, so Wabbit just left a comment at his site inviting him to give us the information, which we WILL publish, since he either lacks a pair or is perhaps simply grandstanding.
Free speech – Use it or lose it.

    Bolt , like most so called conservatives in the media is a fence sitter and a coward. He won’t sue when he has the opportunity because he doesn’t want to use lawfare against the Left although they have done it to him. He needs to get different lawyers .

      “Amazed” is the word I’d use, D.T.
      He got a lot of mileage out of being prosecuted under S18, but doesn’t seem willing to put anything on the line in the name of free speech.
      Vague bloody allusions – without links – isn’t going to cut it as far as I’m concerned.
      Amazing, isn’t it, how so many so-called conservatives fold like origami sheep when there’s a real battle that involves them personally. :evil:

    I suspect the study he refers to is this one, but unfortunately the details are behind The Australian’s paywall:
    ‘A study says the ABC could contribute to the deaths of thousands, as a result of a Catalyst program critical of statins.’

    Seems we’re all agreed on Bolt’s drama queen tendencies. He’s worked that ‘If only I was free to tell you’ shtick to death.
    Whatever he’s keeping in the shoebox, it’s a fair bet that Tim or Piers will cover it and survive.
    That said, the question is: to which ‘long-dead activist’ does he refer? From his earlier legal problems we might assume the LDA is indigenous. My first picks would be Robert Bropho and Charlie Perkins. And I can’t imagine that there’s anything to report about Bropho today – the extent of his depravities have already been well documented. If you don’t know the name, an internet search will quickly tell you more than you’ll want to know.
    That kind of narrows it down. But picking winners isn’t exactly my strong suit – just about every horse I ever put money on was sired by Knackery out of Glue Pot. So take my words with appropriate skepticism.

            Some of them probably cut a bit too close to the bone I suspect, so it was seen as better to avoid posting any comments at all rather then be caught cherry picking the favourable ones.

    Bolt is typical of mainstream conservatives on the upper end of the salary/fame scale. He’s willing to ride the progressive train right off the cliff as long as it doesn’t interrupt his tea and scones.

          Agree with Pascal on that Wombat…well said. Why don’t they have any ? Why are they so scared ? But then again…when ever I have been interviewed either by TV ,radio or a paper they NEVER fully quote what I say. I have been bitching about the parole board for at least 10 years now but never a mention. Even when we did ” Beyond The Darklands ” I was censored and I wasn’t very happy about that at the time let me tell you.
