    Exactly! It’s not the guns. Psychotropic drugs such as SSRI’s remould the neuronal pathways in the brain. Whereas before the experiences and emotions one was exposed to developed intricate connections between neurones now chemicals do…….and not in a good way.

    Very thought-provoking article. I suspect that, in NZ with its limited access to guns, the same feminization of society feeds domestic violence, child abuse and alcoholism. Not to mention gangs and an excessive interest in gladiatorial sports and adrenaline junkie activities. I’m sure we would see the same things in the U.S. but mass murder grabs the headlines.

    There are two things that have done untold harm to boys in NZ and neither of them are drugs. One is the DPB which has effectively removed and entire generation of fathers from their boys. The other is the removal of smacking as a form of discipline. While there may be better forms of discipline than smacking, a large number of parents lack the skill set to employ them effectively. The net result is a total lack of all discipline.

    Just as it took a generation for the harmfulness of the DPB to be apparent. So it will take another 10 years or so before the damage cause by Bradford’s bill to become obvious. It will then be far too late for an entire generation of children, particularly boys.

    For every kid that wigs out and commits mass murder there are 10,000 who just commit suicide.If you really want to see the effects of SSRIs look at our suicide rates.

    Not as off topic as you may think. “Jihad is the cure for depression.” Said by an American ISIS member on a propaganda video. This Stormfront Roof chap was on a Jihad of sorts and probably felt himself to be aggrieved/ disaffected/depressed. Dysfunctional family background and drugs would not help either. I sometimes wonder why there are not even MORE of these violent episodes. I blame liberalism.

      Once again a sci-fi novel becomes future fact.

    Boys are naturally physical and aggressive. Not violent, but certainly competitive.

    Nothing good will come of denying this reality.

    Boys will either become beta males, or will rebel against this unnatural neutered state in favor of some cartoonish distortion of masculinity. This is what we see with the rise of foreign born recruits joining ISIS. At least the cartoonish distortion recognizes that masculinity exists!

    Heck, this hurts girls just as much. Between choosing a society of beta males and a society that, despite being evil, at least recognizes that masculine virtue, however distorted, exists, is it any surprise that we don’t see even more young girls try to join ISIS as well.

    This will not end well…

    The man ploughed into a crowd of onlookers while trying to ram an open-topped bus carrying Beatrix and other senior royals. He admitted to police that it was a deliberate attack on the royal family.

    In the hands of the wrong person everything can be used as a weapon.

    As usual it’ll be blamed on guns and the removal of guns will be put forward as the silver bullet. Yes they do need some form of gun control, scumbags like this fellow shouldn’t get a gun, they should at least try to prevent it, i mean for heavens sake small kids are getting shot up.

    But there is also a cultural problem in America, a country like Switzerland has more guns per capita that the US but they don’t have this sort of issue.

    In a country like Australia we have strict gun control but criminals have plenty of guns and we’ve seen from the numerous drive by shootings and the recent cafe siege by a muslim terrorist that we’re not really safe from banning guns altogether.

    America has a unique problem with evil and it’ll require a unique solution, i suspect they’ll end up with a half-baked effort that’ll make everyone feel warm and fuzzy but won’t do much ultimately.

      The problem is social/cultural and that means it’s pretty much unfixable. All the laws and bans and regulations and speeches on the subject are just noise.
