‘Respect’

Francis W. Porretto:
‘..Despite the legal and political changes, and the social reorientations that have accompanied them, men continue to be the makers of the Western world and the shapers of its future. With the exception of motherhood and child-rearing, every social, political, or economic occupation dominated by women is unnecessary to the functioning of American society and could be disposed of without harmful effect.
We owe women protection and respect for their place in our lives and our society. We do not owe them subjugation to their priorities, transformation into feminized caricatures, or deference to their opinions when objective reality disagrees…’
A great post. And it sure as hell needed saying.

    No its a complete fake.

  3. WAKE UP says:

In today’s NZ Herald, under the heading “Middle-aged men still rule”, someone is bleating that, after the recent election, the average Parliamentarian is (and I quote) “a straight European man…in his 50s”.

Well, “straight European men…in their 50s” INVENTED the Westminster democractic Parliamentary system in the first place. We actually owe them a vote of THANKS.

  4. mort says:

look at what happens when women take charge of depts… electricity gets more expensive because wind and wave and solar are all so good for the planet…. as are Hybrid cars (hand your balls at the desk when you collect the keys girly-son…).

miners die underground… because some stupid bint wants to save a few snails or a stand of trees…..

feel free to add to the list, i’m running short on time and better go back to work

  5. George Romero says:

A young woman leaving school or Tech-University should celebrate their youth in pursuing their job of choice and stick to it , making money/saving some also and enjoy their youth, and look forward to the joys later, of family life with their MEN.
Once they open their legs at the wrong time and the inevitable happens , they own their future. We as a society owe them ZERO.They jumped up and down no end in the 60’s for their liberation of ‘contraception and full controll of their bodies’ but still today more unwanted births.I am unkind i know ,but my suggestion ladies is GBTTK* and free up the workplace for the younger generation.Snow storms? , who’s going to fix the power lines? , you can bet your last buck it wont be….well you know.

  6. OK-I’ll put this here-where it ‘belongs’ —
just read Porrettos’ (sp) take on a ‘woman’s place’ in society —post below–
I remember men were encouraged to ‘spank’ their wives – even into the 1950s–
Do we want to go back to that?
The Creator gave women brains equal to men-are those brains only to be used in the ‘kitchen’?
Any women readers here-other than me—

  7. KG says:

What the heck–here it is in its “proper” place:
Carol, I doubt very much any man here doesn’t have a woman or women in his life he loves and admires very much. Or that he doesn’t know of others he has a deal of respect for.
    But that’s not the issue.
The same men, I’m willing to bet, are fed up to the back teeth with the idiot mantra (for example) that “women can do anything men can do”. no, they can’t!
They’re fed to the back teeth with women in management who–if they were male–would have been sacked long ago for incompetence, but because they’re women nobody dares point out that they’re useless. They’re sick and tired of little bimbos with joke “qualifications” lecturing grown, experienced men on how to do their jobs or run their lives. Sick and tired of looking at the world around them, at the brilliant achievements of chemists and engineers and industrial designers (almost all men) and then hearing the blatherings of feminazi cows who can barely get out of bed in the mornings and couldn’t repair a bloody toaster themselves.
Of hearing how men are savages and brutes when they know perfectly well that the vast majority of men are caring fathers and loving husbands–and when some poor bastard gets home after a fortnight’s killing work in the mines or fifteen hours straight work on a massive engineering project in the office, he turns on the tv and there’s some clown in makeup whining about how statistics show that men don’t do their fair share of housework….
    I could go on.
There are a lot of very bloody angry men out there. They’re angry for good reason, and the pity of it is, a lot of fine women are going to feel slighted and insulted by expressions of that anger.
Try to remember–it’s not always possible to preface every observation with “we know there are many exceptions, but…”

    • WAKE UP says:

Damn tootin’, KG: Theresa Gattung got away with utter incompetence (and made a bloody fortune) at Telecom in New Zealand precisely because she was a woman, and left a sick company behind to boot (it still is). A man as incompetent as she was would have been dealt to in short order, but everybody was too busy lauding her as a role model for women to take a close look at what she was(n’t) actually doing.

  8. KG says:

And a note: The other blog you commented on regarding this post is not a political blog and doesn’t publish political opinions. Still less does it advertise any personal connection to this blog.

  9. KG says:

Take a look at this comment by “Eskyman” over at Francis’ site. Is it any wonder so many men are angry?

  10. if the ‘role’ of women were elevated –
P-31- comes to mind- the woman was in charge of managing the land-servants-education of children-in other words- she was the reason the $$$$ came in so the man could council at the ‘gate’—
sadly-we who assume that role are down-graded by society (what do you do all day)
and we who homeschool ( my off-spring accepted at two US military academies) are still asked -“…. but what do you actually do all day—”

am I a victim -NO- I refuse that ‘role’

now- my word to my XY (male) ‘friends’-
Don’t you assume the “I’m A VICTIM” role either-
    Peace—
    Carol-CS

  11. KG says:

“Don’t you assume the “I’m A VICTIM” role either”
Read Eskyman’s comment–very many men are victims of the drive to “empower” women. (and so are many women, but that’s another subject)

  12. I must say-it is a concern to me that ‘hate crimes’ legislation (I fought that waaaay back) now holds us all – and particularly men in the work place- hostage to false accusations —
    OK-
    I’m finished w/ this ; – )

  13. WAKE UP says:

Once again, I quote George Gilder:

“Most of the proponents (of Women’s Lib) are graduate students, assistant professors, journalists, and various lumpen litterateurs; products of distended education and stinted experience, permissive sex and cynical love; or else they are wives and mothers manqué, having their revenge on the world of men. An indefatigable few are lesbians or dildotage activists…But mostly they are young and intellectual, suffering from the simultaneous contraction of opportunity and inflation of prestige affecting most of their age and profession. Spoiled by doting parents during the postwar binge of pretentious motherhood, beneficiaries of a steadily ascending familial affluence, taught to expect too much of life, educated to believe that qualifications decide, and qualified as no previous female generation – these women simply have no idea how most people live, or why”.
(from “Sexual Suicide”, by George Gilder, published by Quadrangle 1973

Of course they’re not going to tackle women’s problems in Iran, or Islamic oppression of women. They probably don’t even believe those problems exist, they’re too busy hassling the basically decent, basically chivalrous men in the West.

  14. WAKE UP says:

PS – see my comment above re Theresa Gattung, appended to one of KG’s comments

  15. KG says:

I love that Gilder quote. Devastatingly accurate.

I just lifted this comment from Brian Edwards’ site:

I’ll briefly outline a case that made ‘my blood boil’ a few years back (not involving name-suppression – just the wider issue of double-standards in the justice system).

THE VICTIM: Young working-class Samoan barman from my neck of the woods (Porirua). Worked in a bar on Courtenay Place in central Wellington.

THE ACCUSED: Young female University student from affluent boarding school background. Drinking in the Courtenay Place Bar when the incident happened.

The accused had a violent argument with her boyfriend (who was sitting at the bar). She walked towards the exit with her two friends, becoming increasingly angry. As she got to the door, she picked up a large pint glass from a nearby table, turned and threw it with full force (and obviously a great deal of venom) across the bar at her boyfriend.

It missed the boyfriend but hit the nearby barman full-square in the face, smashing his right eye open, causing a deep wound across the right side of his face and permanent loss of hearing in his right ear. Blood everywhere. He subsequently had severe problems with memory and migranes and was off work for more than a year. A significant injury inflicted by someone out of control.

Unfortunately for the barman, the female judge hailed from the same sort of background as the defendent and obviously empathised with the latter, perhaps seeing a reflection of her younger self. The defendent either got off without conviction or without penalty (it was more than 10 years ago and I’m relying on memory here), with the judge treating her almost as if she were the victim. Much rhetoric about her good background, otherwise exemplary lifestyle and brilliant future prospects.

Do I even need to state the bleeding obvious here ? Just imagine if the roles were reversed !!!

Angered me so much that I still remember the gist of it 12 years later. Involved elements of ethnicity and gender, but class was clearly the key facet.

    • KG says:

Yep. And what’s worse, this isn’t some isolated incident and not confined to NZ. The same kind of thing happens in Oz, in Britain and in the U.S.
The ruling elite recognize their own when they see them. Add gender to that, and any “well bred” young woman is pretty much fireproof. And if she’s not well-bred, then she’s a victim anyway and deserving of kid gloves….

  17. Kris K says:

And from a biblical perspective while men and women are intrinsically equal in value, they are NOT equal in: – leadership ability, temperament, strength, rational thought, conceptual thought, coping with stress and pressure, reaction time, problem solving ability, attitudes to accountability and responsibility …

Until we get back to recognising that men and women are DIFFERENT; that they are hard-wired by their Creator for different tasks, and that men are designed to be the leaders in both the family and wider society, then both marriage and society will continue to disintegrate and tend to greater disharmony and degradation. We ignore the Maker’s manual in this regard at our own peril.

  18. WAKE UP says:

The crimes of women, being manipulative, are difficult to define, proscribe and prosecute. Men simply act out, poor bastards.
