‘Bethlehem: Souvenir sellers stop selling crosses for fear of offending Muslims’

Even the Church of the Nativity is depicted without a cross.

Thanks to Lucia Maria for the heads-up.

Perhaps it’s time for less of the kumbaya turn-the-other-cheek forgiveness and tolerance kind of Christianity and a return to something more like this.                 Imagine–if you can–muslims being afraid to sell or distribute muslim symbols and artifacts in Mecca…

See how far down the road to surrender we’ve come?

Free-fire zone.

Have at it–anything from the mating habits of the Patagonian potato moth to why it takes a woman five times longer than a man to just “pop into the shop and pick up a few things”.

If you thought the Packard Bentley was sensational…

Then how about this? Racing legend Gar Wood’s Packard-engined speedboat.
“It was in June, 1932, when I first saw the new boat that Wood had drawn on the carpet of his home that winter night. It was hanging there in its cradle at Wood’s boatwell in Algonac-Miss America X, a finished product, with four giant engines developing 6,400 horsepower, two in tandem, one behind the other.”

Sellout Republicans..make them pay the price for their treachery.

‘With the new Republican power in Washington, it is doubly important to keep a close eye on the doings of GOP senators and congressmen to spot those who are straying from orthodoxy, seduced by power and the insider clubiness that characterizes Washington.
……So, who sold out?
Thad Cochran, Mississippi Bob Corker, Tennessee Mike Crapo, Idaho Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Lamar Alexander, Tennessee Johnny Isakson, Georgia..’

To gauge the depth and scale of their treachery, read this.
UPDATE: Pascal points out that the list is inaccurate and supplies us with these names:
13 Republicans — Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Robert Bennett of Utah, Richard Lugar of Indiana, Olympia Snowe of Maine, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Susan Collins of Maine, George Voinovich of Ohio, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Mike Johanns of Nebraska and Scott Brown of Massachusetts.

John Key should be tarred and feathered. Shameful, disgusting weasel..

This, from PM of NZ:
‘Not content with being handed the East Cape today, ready for secession when the Foreshore and Seabed Usurpers Act is passed, the entitled are pushing the boat out further.
‘Maori interests are being left out of decisions on development and use of New Zealand’s petroleum resources, claims a landmark Waitangi Tribunal decision released today

The Tribunal finds the whole regime fall short of what the Treaty requires’

This is a disgusting betrayal of hardworking Kiwi taxpayers, a betrayal of those New Zealanders who voted for National in the hope of something better than the previous lying, thieving bunch of socialists. Instead, the man who deliberately refused to articulate a clear set of policies in the lead-up to the elections (an omission that at least one apologist for Key claimed was to avoid “scaring the horses” before welfare reform was to be introduced) has not only continued down the deadly separatist path, he’s increased the pace and the scale of government bribes to the whining primitives in order to cement his hold on power.
And the most frightening, depressing aspect of this shameful government is that it remains popular with voters. That says as much about apathetic, uninformed Kiwis as it does about Key.

Homegrown bananas:

‘Democracy trashed in NSW banana republic
NSW PREMIER Kristina Keneally was accused of running a banana republic and trashing democracy after she shut down Parliament two months early to avoid an embarrassing inquiry into her Government’s power sell-off.
Ms Keneally’s move has sparked a legal crisis, with the Parliament openly defying the besieged Premier – and Upper House Clerk Lynn Lovelock allowing the inquiry to go ahead.
Ms Lovelock’s move contradicts Crown Solicitor advice obtained by Ms Keneally which said the inquiry would be illegal.
The Upper House inquiry was to quiz eight board members, including former ministers, on the $5.3 billion sale.
….Ms Keneally’s office last night confirmed she had moved to end Parliament, halting work on legislation, committee responses and answers to 290 questions on everything from nurses to workers’ safety, simply to stop the committee….’

Sleazy, dishonest bastards, demonstrating their utter contempt for their employers.

Real parenting? get to the back of the queue.

‘The Ministry of Health is to lodge an appeal after the High Court ruled last week that parents caring for disabled adult children are eligible for financial support.
The High Court backed a Human Rights Tribunal ruling which said a ministry policy to pay carers only if they were not related to the patient was discriminatory.
The potential implications of the decision are far wider than the health and disability sector, National Health Board director of national services Kelvin Moffatt said yesterday…..’

Oh yes. Yes indeed. Why, those parents who look after disabled children (and save the taxpayer a fortune by so doing, as well as demonstrating enormous courage and commitment) might use dollars which are currently spent on funding abortion on demand, sending maori “cultural groups” all over the world to prance around in grass skirts, lesbian black dance groups, legal aid for some thug charged with his 55th offence, obscene pay and allowances for MPs, millions for the “arts”, Playstations and wide-screen TVs for prisoners, funding girls who’ve done nothing more than spread their legs for some dope-smoking unemployed welfare sink……
A fine example of what’s become of our sense of values and priorities, ain’t it?

Col. Bunny ‘gets it’:

A workable scheme to preserve our civilisation.
‘The disease of statism is not new and previous historical experience suggests that the worst of citizens eventually learn that they can vote money for themselves in a democratic system. Normal reliance on the ballot has proved to be an ineffective defense against the incursions of the left, as the hunger of the lumpen will energize them more than the bourgeoisie.
A major initiative that would bear delectable fruit down the line would be to restrict the franchise to those who do not receive public benefits. Why it is only possible to move in the direction of expansion of the franchise I do not know.
